As I type this, MB pitches a 1-2-3 8th. JM surprised me leaving MB in for the 8th considering he was nearing 100 pitches. FINALLY, JM makes a good pitching decision.

I really don't blame him for wanting to go to another team. Even though the Cardinals aren't much better. The Cardinals would probably be at least 3 or 4 games up in the NL Central if MB was there this season with their usual offense. This team has a tendency to nap when MB pitches.

Who are you going to sit then? Maggs, Lee, or Everett if Rowand plays everyday? Everett moreso than anyone else. Rowand's a guy who only HELPS this ballclub. A.... you said the same thing about Graffenino a few weeks back and he's so cool now that he's ice. And..... B..... we traded for Everett and his bat because we are a supposed contender. Like some else here said, start him against LHP's. But there is absolutely no way the front office is going to let Rowand be the EVERYDAY starter over Everett. And the way Rowand started the season and the fact that he is streaky like TG, a start once..... maybe twice..... a week is all that should be in order.

Hawk was commenting all last night that Cotts was, for all intents and purposes, a 2 pitch pitcher..... especially in the 2nd inning. Hawk voiced that Texas hitters should go to the plate with the mind-set of whether they will want to hit a fastball or change-up. Cotts doesn't impress me at all. He has good stuff but needs to fine tune big time in AA. I'd give him one more start to impress the hell out of me and, if that doesn't happen, back to AA with Cotts.
