White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
If it's Avi/Trayce or Avi/Engel I'd be fine with that, please not both Trayce and Engel. Would be sad to see Thompson or Engel go though.

Better not be Montas that'd be an overpay. Don't like the idea of trading Johnson either.

Shelby Miller to Arizona
Lot of baseless assumptions being made in this thread.

Shelby Miller to Arizona
Haha what the hell, Miller isn't even that good either.

Shelby Miller to Arizona
Like this more for the Braves than Arizona, that's how you sell high on someone.

Zobrist To Cubs, 4/56
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:07 PM) Did just dump Castro salary That's only 7 million, still doesn't add up.

Zobrist To Cubs, 4/56
After Price signed all I heard on the radio was that the Cubs would have needed to move salary to afford him. Now they supposedly can afford Lackey, Zobrist, and Heyward?

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) Anderson, Rodon, Erik Johnson, Sanchize and two lower level prospects. We then sign Johan. Bring Fullmer up early. Sale Fernandez Q Fulmer Santana I caught a chub Still would rather have Rodon for 3 extra years than Fernandez. Fangraphs projects Rodon at ~3 WAR/year and Fernandez ~5 WAR/year right now, which means Rodon would give us more total WAR over his time with us than Fernandez, and that's assuming Fernandez is healthy and Rodon doesn't improve. Then you're adding all those other guys?

Rangers “Surveying” Rival Clubs On Prince Fielder
No. He'll be 32, doesn't seem like he'd age well, and even with his pretty good numbers last year was still worth only 1.6 WAR. That's a long commitment too.
-
White Sox targeting OF Justin Upton
Cespedes was worth 6.7 WAR last year, but he's usually a 3 WAR player. Whoever gets him is going to pay a big premium for his career year, I don't like it.

White Sox targeting OF Justin Upton
QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) I am not a huge Gordon fan but I would like him a hell of a lot more than Upton. Gordon seems like such a better fit for the Sox. We need some defense. Gordon is more than 3 years older than Upton though, he'll be 32 next year. Upton is a much better long-term move.

Teams are targeting SS Tim Anderson, #White Sox's No. 1 prospect,
QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) Nope. Arenado is really good for Colorado and I like that he is a strong defender, but I don't think his bat would be superstar level outside of Coors and if I'm dropping those 4 guys, 3 of which might be in the top 100 prospects overall, I need a superstar. Anderson, Montas, and Fulmer are already top 100 guys, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Adams sneak into the 90s somewhere. He's at least right outside the top 100. No way I give all of that for Arenado.

@jaysonst Sources: Mystery team making "very strong" bid for Jose Fernandez. Other clubs believe it's the Astros. More soon at http://ESPN.com

Teams are targeting SS Tim Anderson, #White Sox's No. 1 prospect,
QUOTE (shakes @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) For Anderson? This is where the disconnect with prospect valuation comes in. Arenado is maybe a top five position player in the game and ascending. Anderson doesn't even get a discussion started. If I'm the Rockies I wouldn't trade him straight up for Sale. Haha you're crazy. Now you're the one overrating Arenado.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 6m6 minutes ago Spoke with Vandy baseball coach Tim Corbin who raved about White Sox #1 pick Carson Fullmer. "He’s the nicest, meanest kid I’ve ever seen." Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 3m3 minutes ago Tim Corbin says that Carson Fullmer is "the strongest-willed kid we've had come through." More than David Price and Sonny Gray. #WhiteSox Sounds like he has plenty of TWTW.

Teams are targeting SS Tim Anderson, #White Sox's No. 1 prospect,
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) No way they give up Anderson and Adams for two years of Frazier. Not saying we would, but I think that's what it would take to get Frazier.

The LaRoche article dug up from 2015
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) By all means if the Sox are great at signing free agents, sign more! The path to success is assured! Quite the strawman you built there.
-
Teams are targeting SS Tim Anderson, #White Sox's No. 1 prospect,
I could see us trading him in a package for Frazier, which I'd be against doing, Reds probably want Anderson and Adams.

Padres/Cardinals trade
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:21 AM) I would of given up Avi for Gyrko and cash We have to stop thinking Avi has any value, at best he has zero value, but it's more likely that he has negative value. No one would want him.

The LaRoche article dug up from 2015
Duke wasn't a great signing but it wasn't that bad either, $5 million/year is nothing.
-
The LaRoche article dug up from 2015
QUOTE (Special K @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 08:30 AM) Is LaRoche the worst contract Hahn has dished out since taking over the reigns? This is essentially $25 million flushed down the toilet. We're talking about teams not willing to take him on unless the Sox eat $10 million of his salary this year? The Sox should seriously consider just signing Heyward with LaRoche and Danks' dollars coming off the books next year. That frees up roughly $28 million. $25 million over two years is really not that much, it was never a high-risk move. If a two year contract is the worst one you've signed, that's a good sign.

Cubs Working to get Shelby Miller
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 06:43 AM) They are going to go all out to get Heyward to play CF and bat lead off They don't have the money to sign Heyward unless they move some salary around, I guess they'll be looking to trade Soler to free up that cash.

White Sox targeting OF Justin Upton
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/what-would-...tion-look-like/ The whole idea of lineup protection is generally overstated.
