  1. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) A half season of good baseball does not a career make. Like with Avi we'll see about Kahnle (who's ERA is now up in the three's. Still good...but not what it was) And I seriously doubt even the rebuilding White Sox are going to waste money on a pitcher who can't pitch (Petricka) because the guy CAN'T STAY HEALTHY. But as always we'll see. I don't understand the posters that would rather be right than have a White Sox player do well. It seems like you'd be happy if Kahnle reverted back to his previous form.
  2. I haven't really outright rooted against the Sox this year, but on the other hand it would really serve us better if the Rangers stayed in the playoff race.

  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 01:39 PM) Yeah man, Acuna has HUGE helium. True CF with 70 run and a better bat than everyone thought. This is my pref order: Acuna Jimenez Frazier Verdugo Tucker I highly doubt Acuna or Jimenez are available. I think Frazier might be simply because the Yankees actually have so much high-end OF depth in the upper minors/majors. I think Tucker, like pretty much all of the Astros prospects at the moment, is overrated. Why do you think Tucker is overrated?
  5. Joey Votto somehow has more extra base hits than strikeouts.
  6. So the Dodgers lost last night on a walkoff strikeout. https://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/mp4/20...asset_2500K.mp4
  7. QUOTE (Username @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 08:32 PM) Guerrero 6 IP 1 ER 4 Ks 0 BBs. Looking his resurgence. Now 8 IP 1 ER 6 Ks 0 BBs
  8. Even with the slow start to the year I still doubt Quintana's trade value will be higher in the offseason than it is now, even with a strong second half. I think he gets traded at the deadline.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 01:53 PM) That and the fact that they are still in the playoff race. Yeah if the season ended today they would be in the playoffs.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:42 PM) No but that's now two bad outings in a row for a guy with no track record. Still wish they could trade DRob soon and see what Kahnle can do as closer. Didn't the defense let him down in his last outing? I'm not too concerned.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 11:37 AM) You will see Tatis Jr on more than law's mid year top 100s. He's showing really good power for an 18 year old in A ball. Would be shocked if he's not on Callis's and Longenhagens based on their chats. He was on Longenhagen's preseason top 100 at #78.
  12. Anyone play OOTP? Just picked up the latest version a few days ago and decided to see how long it would take to get the Sox back to the playoffs. Ended up finally winning the division in 2021 with 93 wins, despite every free agent signing being a disaster over the years, which was eerie (Darvish/Carrasco/Nelson Cruz). Kopech/Lopez/Jordan Montgomery (traded Q for him along with Andujar who is currently the starting 3B)/Collins all made the All-Star team, Basabe is my starting RF (I've got Haseley in CF), Burdi is the closer and Adams and Clark are middle relievers. Funnily enough Covey is my #2 starter after Kopech and Giolito does well when he's healthy but he's always hurt. Moncada has led the league in SB several years in a row and I ended up drafting Seth Beer who is currently the #2 prospect (though still hasn't played a game in the majors yet). Burger was drafted by the Nats and just hit .291/.350/.543 for them on the year.
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) I think that's been gone for several seasons now. I'm at the game right now and I see it. Edit: nevermind I thought you were talking about the words "the catch".
  14. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 02:20 PM) Just DFA Shields. He is entirely useless. Scrap Todd with him. Also, STFU Benetti. Nobody cares that Mark Buerhle is so down to Earth that he offers to replace his chair. No one cares for your s***ty jokes either. Why are all your posts so angry.
  15. I'm 27 but I started following them regularly in 2004. Pretty fortunate timing with what happened the next year. It's too bad though that I missed all of Frank's prime years. Same with Jordan and the Bulls in that regard, born just a little bit too late to really appreciate both of them.
  16. So excited to be at the game tomorrow. Definitely my favorite all-time White Sox player.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) I dunno...his issue seems to be hitting the ball, not how hard he hits it when he does hit it. It isn't like this new ball is larger or something. Yeah I feel like the juiced ball is most beneficial to guys with warning track power. Davidson hits no doubters.
  18. The Cubs also don't need a reliever and aren't selling low on Schwarber.
  19. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) What package could the Yankee's put together then that would net Trout? I'm not sure there is one because I doubt the Angels are even entertaining the idea of trading Trout but any package from the Yankees would have to start with Judge/Severino/Torres and add from there.
  20. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-fringe-...e-prospects-93/ There's a couple baserunning gifs of Mendick in the article.
  21. Wtf that pitch was right down the middle, cmon ump
  22. Yeah I get the bullpen has been overworked but this is unnecessary.
  23. Great, timely outing from Q.
  24. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 06:50 PM) I've heard and read in different places recently that "the ball is juiced" this year. Heard radio show hosts suggest it. Have read it on message boards and in the comments below articles. Are we falling for this again? Aren't people suspicious of PEDs again? I am. I don't know that I'll ever trust athletic accomplishments again. The reason people are suggesting juiced balls is because the homerun rate leaguewide spiked literally overnight in 2015. If PEDs were the main cause the change would have been more gradual rather than immediate and also would not only affect the hitters.
  25. He definitely doesn't get any cheap homeruns, that was murdered.
