  1. As someone who left NJ for eastern NC, I hated ever going into the city. I prefer my 1.3 acres, inground pool, 3000 SF house, 1000 SF woodshop and only the sound of animals at night on my outdoor patio while I drink my bourbon, smoke my cigar and watch the sox blow the game in the 9th while I cuss JR with nobody to hear me but the coyotes and deer. All for a fraction of the cost of Manhattan. But it's really personal preference. Glad you enjoy it.
  2. I agree with you. NYC is a shathole and getting worse. Its why half the NY players used to live outside the city. Part of the reason they have to pay so much is because of the taxes. If the Marlins had owners that wanted to win they would be the destination along with Tampa. Live in NYC and make 10 million per year you only get about 4.7 million of that 10 million. Live outside the city and get almost 5.2. Florida you get 6.1 million.
  3. Tonight is the night. Sacrifice chickens or your first born if you need to. Everything is on the table. I have decided to pull out the reinsdorf voodoo doll.
  4. Bring back Crapa so I can keep betting against him not getting a hit
  5. I stand corrected. He is 27. I was looking at his age at his mlb debut. He is still a really damn good hitter with a couple years of control left. Hit lefties at 271 last year. 3.7 oWar over last 2 years. Not great defensively.
  6. Burleson is 24 years old. Not 28. You could get a 2nd player for quero
  7. If he is in listening mode let's hope Jerry isn't talking to him
  8. Vargas made a pretty big jump from 2024 to 25. If he makes another jump than maybe he hits .265 with 22 HRs and 80 rbis and .770 OPS. That's a decent player to have in the lineup. Are you really going to get anything back in a trade better than that.
  9. Wichita state and Rice were 2 schools that come to mind also. When the SEC decided they wanted to dominate baseball it hurt a lot of schools. Arkansas bought Zach Root from ECU and he wasn't high in the draft this year. And auburn bought our left fielder last year. Trey was offered i heard 250k but wake forest but wouldn't leave ECU and his pitching coach.
  10. He did come back in the ncaa tourney and was dominant. I was at the game. Lots of teams missed. ECU not the SEC but have the 6th most active major leaguers now. With 8. Some damn good pitchers. Gavin williams Alec burleson Jeff hoffman Shawn Armstrong Carson whisenhunt Zach agnos Connor norby
  11. Looks like the scouts didn't think that highly of him. Low ceiling. No plus pitch. Lol
  12. Watched trey yesavage in person many times in college. Kid isn't fazed by the moment. Saw him outfield chase burns in NCAA regional. Wish we drafted him
  13. As an ECU alum I saw Trey Yesavage pitch many times in person. I thought he was a top 10 pitcher that draft. Saw him outpitch Chase Burns in a regional. I really wanted the sox to draft him, he was just more polished than Hagen Smith. Felt like Gavin Williams was the best RHP in the draft a few years ago too. I think sometimes scouts rate a guy higher because they are in the SEC or ACC. But Yesavage is absolutely nasty. 10 Ks through 4 innings in his 4th start in MLB.
  14. Well looks like letting crochet go out and pitch and build himself up worked out for him. 200+ innings this year. Threw over 100 pitches 21x this year. 14 games of 7+ innings.
  15. I thought it was obvious. But my post wasn't serious.
  16. It's obvious the coaching was the reason we missed the playoffs. Pencil us in next year. Getz amassed all that talent. The coaching staff held them back this year.
  17. We really need to sign a stud to tell the fans we are serious about winning. Otherwise we can be the next Orioles. Go get Kyle Tucker and a ace pitcher and a decent closer. Try to win the division
  18. Maybe this will force their hand to cut rojas
