Vinny had a big game last night. 1-3 and threw a inning of relief. Vinny now has thrown 3 innings this year. Becoming quite the 2 way threat. That big hit raised his average from .101 to .110 on the year. Odds are he will finish the year above the .100 line but I am sure it will be close. He is a career .122 hitter. Give credit to him for having basically no baseball offensive skills but still pulling in 761K in salary. Only in America. I salute you Vinny Crapa.

To put that in perspective the lowest single seating WAR for a position player was Jerry roster at -4.0

Crapa at a -.9 owar on the year in 89 abs. Give him 500 abs he could be a -5

I got my wish on palacios being gone. I guess they are keeping Crapa because he raised his average above the .100 line Closing in on the Maldonado line.

I am not ready to give up on elko. Notice in AA and AA he was good when he got there but his 2nd year he was even better. So it may take him a while to adjust. But at this point you ride with him and see if he can figure it out before the end of the year. Just look at Vargas. He hit about .200 his first 500 ABs. Now he has figured it out. It may not work but there is no rain to give up on him. It's not like anyone is pushing for 1st base right now from the minors.

Solid building block who should only get better. IF of him, Meidroth, hopefully Montgomery, Teel or Quero at catcher and then you need a 1B . For the next 5 years of all good well. We know it won't but it's nice to dream.
