Not sure it matters who they play on Tuesday. They are playing awful baseball and if they happen to win 1 of the first 2, the cluster fuck that will be the pitching situation for game 3 should be a disaster. I'm excited for playoff Sox baseball but I expect nothing.

As Timmy goes, so goes this team offensively and he's been struggling.

I just don't see how they can risk letting Cease start game 3 after that steaming pile Friday. Long story why but I watched that Friday game on the Cub feed and I think they said coming into that game, the Cubs had hit 17 home runs in all of September. And then Cease gave up how many long balls to them?

I would like them to have tried letting Foster open a game to let him get a feel for it, but I doubt they would try that for the first time in the playoffs.

The homer tonight and triple the other day are very encouraging.

I doubt he gets fired but if they lose 6 games to Cleveland in a little over a week to get swept out of the playoffs, he might get fired.

Missed this game tonight and glad I did. Checked the score then came to the game thread to find innumerable Fire/F@#$ Ricky posts. Gotta get right and quick or these long awaited playoffs are gonna be a quick exit. Hopefully the Cubbies are the medicine to get the team right.

My concern is that every Sox playoff team in my lifetime, except 2005 of course, had an offense that totally disappeared in the playoffs. I know this is a different bunch of guys, but their current great Chicago power outage resembles those other teams. My hope is Moncada looks more like the guy who smoked that triple tonight and Timmy goes on a tear starting tomorrow or against the Cubbies. When TA is on fire, the offense follows. It seems that nothing is going to stop Jose this season.

A couple of weeks ago, I doubt anyone wanted to play the Sox in the 1st round. I'm sure they are the preferred opponent now. This offense is beyond pathetic.
