We sat in the nosebleeds at Comerica just last week for Detroit's home opener...and it was a great experience. Got an amazing view of Detroit, and you could clearly see the game action, and we were behind the plate. We also were in the upper deck in Pittsburgh last year, similar experience, behind the 3rd base line. Both parks' upper decks are great. Now, I will say it also can depend on where you're sitting. I've also been in the upper deck in Detroit far down the line, and that kinda sucked lol. But overall, great experience. I'd never sit in the upper deck at a Sox game, unless it's like for a playoff game (LOL) and I don't want to spend $400 for one ticket. I'd rather sit in the Bleachers or any outfield seats, which honestly aren't all that bad either.
