  1. It's not giving outs away. If it's a good bunt, you are forcing the defense to make a tough play. Like I said, against Holland, yeah let them swing away, but generally, it isn't giving away an out
  2. Lol. I agree bunting in that situation was not the best play, however it's not giving up outs. You are forcing the defense to make a tough play. I've seen a ton of botched plays on the bunt this year, whether it be errant throws, confusion on which base to throw to, difficulty picking up the ball. In that case, if Mendick bunted to the 3B side, it would have been a good play. Would've had 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out instead of 1 runner in sciring position. But he bunted to the wrong man. Against Holland though...probably should let them swing away. Hinch couldn't have come out of that dugout quick enough to get Holland off the mound.
  3. How is Derek Holland still a major league pitcher?
  4. Lets gooooo! Vaughn is gonna be this generation's Konerko.
  5. I wanna see Abreu with a big game changing hit here. Feel like he hasn't had one for a while.
  6. Anyone know how often they are going to wear these unis?
  7. I won't post a link because no one needs to see it, but Rays minor league pitcher Tyler Zombro got hit in the head on a line drive fell to ground face first and immediately started convulsing. Players looked away in horror and he was rushed to the hospital. Currently in stable condition. I've mentioned this a few times, but when do we start having pitchers where helmets? It's only a matter of time until this happens again. I'm surprised it hasn't happened more often. Balls are coming off the bat now harder than ever.
  8. I recently went on a ballpark trip. Started with the Sox, then to Minneapolis, St Louis and Cincinatti. One thing that I noticed at the end of it all...none of the other parks had the brilliant, pungent grilled onion smell just ruminating throughout the ballpark. I wonder if that smell is one of a kind with the Sox Park. One of my favorite combinations of smells at home is sauteed peppers and onions, and I really think it's because it reminds me of being a kid again going to Sox games. It also tastes amazing.
  9. That was a perfect pitcher's pitch, splitter low and away, painted the corner...Mize just needs to tip his cap there
  10. These umpires are running themselves out of the ballpark. AI umps are coming in the next 5 years.
  11. Damn, tough loss. Stick it to them tomorrow though with Lynn and take the series split. Beautiful thing about baseball...you get another shot tomorrow. But damn, if baseball didn't rear it's ugly head tonight. AL MVP and player of the week going 0-5 with 8 LOB including 2 key plate appearances to put the team ahead. Yikes.
  12. Oh my God, someone actually has the ability to think critically and see the big picture. There is hope.
  13. Absolutely, especially for us east time zoners. Wish the Sox would switch to 6:00 central starts as well.
  14. The homers must be coming at the right times then, because they are 2nd from the bottom in the AL in homeruns, and 22nd in all of baseball, with a top-2 AL record and a top-3 MLB record.
