  1. Maybe Hahn isn't as leashed or upset with his job as everyone is speculating him to be?
  2. Honestly kind of what I was thinking. Baseball in Chicago is good for Opening Day, and then about the 2nd or 3rd week of May through September (and probably 1st or 2nd week of October if we ever made it that far)
  3. At this point I've just accepted they are going to bicker and fight and it will drag on through April or May until they agree on something and games start mid May or June. It sucks but it is what it is at this point.
  4. If you take all bias out of it, The White Sox is pretty stupid lmao. Only thing cool about it is the logo and the colors.
  5. They need another starter for when one of them eventually inevitably get injured
  6. People who are not thrilled about the Lance Lynn signing...hypothetical question for you. If the Sox only have Lynn for 2021 and he signs somewhere else next offseason, but they win the world series with him in 2021 and he is a major reason why they won it, and also Dunning turns into an ace for Texas and ends up winning a Cy Young in the next 6 years, what would you think of the trade then?
  7. The only person I really could see Eaton clashing with on this team would be Anderson. Both seem to have "type-A" personalities. Eaton seems to have more of an "old-school" approach and thought process...while Anderson obviously does not. But, Eaton did sign, and he knows what this team is about. He obviously thinks he can win another world series here, so I doubt he would instigate anything.
  8. Eloy is not getting traded lol. I could see a platoon with him and Brantley with DH/LF.
  9. In the end, it's billionaires and millionaires fighting over money...and the fans are defending them...
  10. In the end, it was pretty clear that both sides were being greedy and stubborn. Owners were definitely the ones to blame in the beginning, but in the end the PA was being just as stubborn as the owners were.
  11. I think it's pretty clear there will be some form of fan restriction if they start playing games on April 1st. I think they better start soon with these labor negotiations, because if they wait until like February, we will see the same ugly situation we saw this year, where the delay will be purely about money. And of course all this is happening right when the White Sox contention window opens
  12. Yeah, I think it really depends on the vaccine and how that all shakes out.
  13. I haven't seen this being discussed anywhere else, feel free to move it if it needs to be. I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone thinks, though. I don't think anyone really knows what exactly is going to happen.
  14. I'm not saying I can do better than him, nor am I saying he should not be making that much. Was simply making an observation that it blows my mind. Thanks for assuming though, I do appreciate it. I agree that they are highly specialized and the work they put in is basically all year, not just for 7-8 months. I don't understand why I can't be surprised though, or better yet, why you feel the need to tell me I shouldn't be surprised by it. We all (myself included) talk about 7 figures like it's a normal thing...it most certainly is not normal. Hence why it just struck me when I actually thought about how much money that is.
  15. It still blows my mind how much professional athletes make. We always talk about it in terms of millions...and then you look at a guy like Jace Fry who most people don't know who he is, outside of the Chicago White Sox, and he's set to make almost $900,000. For one year. Lol.
  16. Not sure about a full season but I definitely think he starts in AAA and if he proves himself there, they won't hesitate to bring him up. I say a few months.
  17. I honestly thing Engel will work his way into being a starting outfielder somehow next season. Whether it be due to someone else getting injured, or the Sox failing to sign someone else. I think he's going to finally break out to being the player everyone thought he could be when he was called up. He showed flashes of it in this shortened season. He had more bat control and was hitting balls the other way. Those are signs of a hitter figuring it out (hello Tim Anderson).
  18. I'm going to say the Sox are waiting in the weeds. Them being silent is probably the best thing to happen right now
  19. So the deadline is the 2nd right? Which means we should hear about Gio and Lopez signing contracts in the next few days?
  20. So the 2 major names that are in danger of being non-tendered are...Rodon and Nomar?
  21. He isn't a good fielder..if he can't hit then why have him? Id rather Start Engel who atleast showed he can finally hit now, and even if he sucks at hitting again, at least he provides fielding, speed and baserunning.
  22. Ditto. I found this site in 2015 and it has been a fantastic outlet for me to talk about the Sox. I've been here throughout the rebuild...that says something about this site lol.
  23. Same. I'm 26 and healthy, haven't been even close to sick this entire time covid has been here, and due to the nature of my work, I am around people all the time. I haven't gotten sick yet, and not saying I won't or I shouldn't be concerned for myself, but I think the more vulnerable populations should get it before I do.
