I really hope he becomes our catcher of the future and we don't have to put all our hope in Collins or a free agent we will never get.

I just never know where to put Anderson in the lineup. He's got speed and pop, but isn't a big on base guy. I don't think I would bat him 2nd for the low OBP, but I wouldn't really bat him 5th in a good lineup either. His spot may just be in the 6th spot in a good lineup, 7th in a great one.

In order for this thing to work, we need surprises to happen, just like Bummer. What a pitcher he is turning out to be, and if he continues what hes doing, well, there is one of our future set-up guys. Gio is another nice surprise. We need these guys to fail, go home and get their shit together for an offseasom, and come back totally reinvented and ready to win. That's what it's going to take.

Only thing is, those developments arent all going to happen at the same time. You vould say that Tim is there already, although we will see how this wrist thing affects him. I think Moncada is still showing flashes, but Eloy is gonna be a little while, Robert wont even be up until next season. In my humble opinion, this rebuild cant be considered a success or a failure until at least the end of 2024 season when all of these guys have been given ample time to develop into quality major league players

Its just weird to me because, most of us here are Sox fans because we grew up in the Chicago area or because we had family that did, and if the Sox never existed we would probably be cubs fans. Same thing with Cubs fans, they would be Sox fans if the cubs never existed.

Injuries have just slowed this whole thing down so much. Maybe not derailed it, but definitely slowed it way down. Kopech and Cease should be up here right now. Robert and Dunning should be knocking on the door, Burdi should be up, Burger should be in AA, Basabe and Hansen in AAA, Adolfo probably in MLB. Injuries just have sucked the life out of this whole thing.

Was debating on making the trip to Minnesota to see the Sox play over the weekend...glad I didnt do that!

If Nova has it tonight and the Sox somehow pull this one out of the hat, they have a decent chance at splitting this series with Gio on the bump tomorrow.

Um, aside from Alonso and maybe Yolmer (who should be a platoon tbh), the lineup isn't that bad. Leury has been solid all year, Moncada is in a slump right now but we saw what he can do in April, Abreu, McCann still one of the best offensive catchers in the league, Eloy is still adjusting, we know who Anderson is now, Tilson is hot. Houston just is a really good team, and they are showing us how far the Sox have to go to get to that elite level. "Pathetic" is overkill. I would say work-in progress but still major league worthy...I like Yonder but he has zero place on this team right now. Cut the losses.

Love DJ. I really enjoy his commentary, reminds me a lot of Stone actually. Very knowledgeable about the game and I hope he sticks around for a long time. Ed, I still enjoy listening to him only for nostalgic purposes. I wouldn't really miss him when he goes. He does have great homerun calls and I enjoy it when he gets excited about the game. Like the previous poster said, I think there is some to be desired in the PBP category...and Ed's age is definitely showing.

Nerd/obsessed fan moment: I was friends with Adam Eaton on facebook. I posted a picture of a fish that I caught. He literally commented on it and asked me how big it was. I will always admire him for taking the time to do that. Made my day lol. And this happened like 2 years ago.
