  1. Rodon pitching real well...now would be nice to hear "You can cancel the post game show" this inning.
  2. Lmao Tim getting a bath down there. He also is not a man of many words lol.
  3. I really like the way Smith receives the baseball behind the plate. Very smooth. And he can hit...maybe surprise catcher of the future? This game is ovahhhh!!!
  4. This Rockies crowd seems like they know how to have a good time...
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 11:07 PM) Him figuring something out would be something we could really use the second half This. I agree 100%. Kind of like Abreu did last year, just kind of figured it out in like August or september. I think Anderson is actually a big key part to this team winning in the future. If Tim can be a .270 hitter and learn how to take walks, steal maybe 15-20 bags a year, and play an average shortstop, that would be a major win for this team.
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 09:27 PM) What really sucks is Lopez is the only guy in Charlotte really pushing for a spot in the rotation. Coming into the season, I was hoping for two or three guys to be ready by now. I'm all for a rebuild, but it's painful watching the Holland, Shields, Gonzalez, Pelfrey quartet. Once Gonzalez is back, Pelfrey will be gone, and we will be back to a Q, Rodon, Shields, Gonzalez, Holland rotation. If Gonzalez is anything like was was last year, and A and Rodon continue what they are doing (assuming Q doesn't get traded), these games should at least be bearable. Shields will probably give us a few good ones too, but Holland hasn't looked good since May., doubt he will be any better. I'm a side note, I'm going to the first game after the all star break against Seattle. Very much looking forward to watching a Q start, and possibly his final or second to final start. Probably gonna face king Felix. Looking forward to that matchup.
  7. Ughhh this is ugllyyyy. At least put up some kind of fight.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 08:32 PM) Burger 3-3 Would be a nice surprise if he forced his way through the minors quickly.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 08:53 PM) 2019 Rotation (keeping Q) Q Rodon Kopech Lopez Adams/Dunning. Now that is a rotation you can dream on. Dream on that as you watch the next 70 or so games of s***. It's just embarassing...like is this little league? Spot your pitches and do what you are paid millions to do.
  10. Really sick and tired of all these walks and hitters counts from our pitchers. Holland looks like he is either gonna throw BP or nibble...and these umps don't usually call his corner pitches.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) I agree. He's already done a lot more than most ballplayers, assured himself a great pension and likely a spot on a big league club for a few more years. Good for him. He's way better than the hacks who have replaced him the last few seasons. I think everyone was just spoiled with AJ, then we were brought back to earth with Phegley and Co.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 04:41 PM) All-Star break will give them a rest After the break, it would be nice to see some more quality starts. It's rare for our starters to go past the 5th inning.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) We are absolutely killing our bullpen... Yeah it's extremely annoying how many foul balls Oakland is hitting. Pelfrey isn't even that bad in the 2nd inning...
  14. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 3, 2017 -> 09:49 AM) The A's play at 6pm? weird start time for a west coast team. I'm sure it probably has something to do with the holiday festivities this week. Tomorrow is an afternoon game...back to normal in the 5th.
  15. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 2, 2017 -> 03:38 PM) Buzzkill Anderson. Felt it when he came to the plate...
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 12:13 PM) Should read...should they try to work out a deal once he goes to league minimum from the Sox perspective? Opportunity cost...playing time for Narvaez/Smith vs. the possibility of flipping Montero for something if he was hot offensively. Does anyone actually see either of those two starting for the Sox in 2-3 years? Will Montero mean 1-2 more wins and a 5 or 6 pick instead of 3-4? That said, there are a lot of ex Sox catchers around the big leagues. So we've actually done okay cultivating back ups. Phegley and Flowers come to mind with Oakland and Atlanta...who else though?
  17. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 10:25 PM) Aaron Judge is an absolute monster. This Yankees lineup is gonna be scary good for the next 6-7 years. I think eventually Gary Sanchez will be their DH. From what I've seen this series, if it is any indication of his normal defense, he sucks defensively. It really is not only annoying, but kind of embarrassing when you have to go and talk to the pitcher every other pitch during a high leverage situation (granted the Yankees are known for doing that kind of thing, but still), just seems like Sanchez isn't good at communicating with the pitchers (which is the most important part of the catcher's job description, in my opinion) or blocking pitches at the plate. But, he sure can hit, and he will continue to hit as long as Judge is in front of him in that lineup.
  18. I just don't understand how a catcher catches the ball has such a huge affect on whether or not close pitches are called strikes. Can't you see where the damn ball crossed the plate? Why does it matter where it is caught?
  19. The Sox have had bases loaded 4 times in the last 7 innings played. Let's go Melky.
  20. Well, Rodon did only give up 3 runs, and they were from walks. But after what he gave up in the minors and coming up to the majors and not giving up much to the Yankees, I'll take that.
  21. Almost an hour and not even into the 3rd inning yet
  22. Yolmer fricken Sanchez everybody
  23. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 08:28 PM) It's difficult for me to believe what we saw last season was a fluke. I think in the long run he'll be fine, but he's definitely going through growing pains right now. I think him losing his best friend to gun violence has messed him up quite a bit.
