  1. Potential 2020 Lineup: CF Robert SS Anderson 1B Abreu RF Avi 2B Moncada DH/3B Davidson 3B/DH (Free Agent?) C Collins LF Tilson That's an exciting lineup, with the assumption that Tilson is healthy and can actually hit, actually, a lot of this lineup has assumptions lol. One possible alteration, if we have a lot of faith in Yolmer and if he stays hot at the plate, maybe move Moncada to 3B and have Yolmer play 2B, with Davidson DHing. OR DH Abreu and put Davidson at 1B, or find a free agent 1B and DH Abreu. I think we were all spoiled with Konerko's defense over there at first.
  2. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ May 20, 2017 -> 03:54 PM) His potential is huge, but I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing him in the majors or thinking the Sox got the Cuban version Mike Trout. He's going to be raw, but the talent is there for him to be a impact core player for when the Sox decide to go on a playoff run. Good to know...yeah, it will be interesting to see how he will handle our pitchers. What do you think of the possibility of a September call-up?
  3. So, 19 year old who hit .400 in Cuba's last Series Nationale. Obviously he will be in the minors at some point this season...does anyone have any information or any educated guesses as to which league he will start in, and even though he is only 19, how far away is he from the majors? Is this even close to a Mike Trout situation where Trout hit the bigs when he was 19 years old? Or too early to tell? I know I remember some international scout saying Robert was the "best player on the planet"...just wondering how much of this hype is actually true.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2017 -> 09:33 PM) We passed the Indians for 27th in the last couple of days... Weird...you'd think the reigning AL champs would draw a nice crowd. I think the Sox drew an average of 36,000 something in 2006.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ May 18, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) 3.5 games from 1st in our division, 4 games from worst overall record. That's hilarious
  6. 17-21 and still only 3.5 games out of first hahaha this division reaks.
  7. QUOTE (Moncada @ May 16, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) There is another guy that is at 42 right now, he played it smart and just went with Trout last night Have to keep an eye on him. Honestly I think the smartest thing to do is to keep choosing hitters from the too hitting teams in the league, like the Yankees.
  8. Man, these 20 plus pitch first innings from our starters is getting real old
  9. Dang that sucks. So close...was rooting for him. Just like that it's gone.
  10. Ya know, it just seems really odd that all around the league all of these great pitchers are getting hurt, and here is this 43 year old still starting games, pushing 300 pounds, and he's as healthy as can be. Something is wrong with that picture.
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 15, 2017 -> 08:10 PM) 1 and 2 hitters with the highest batting averages in the Jays' order, at home going up against a 43 year old starter with a near 7 ERA. Makes sense haha. The Atlanta 2nd baseman obviously doesn't know what is at stake here lol. If Carerra would have beaten that out, his streak would've extended.
  12. QUOTE (Moncada @ May 15, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) You can double down now and pick 2 The guy is probably gonna lose his streak tonight Yeah...not sure why he picked either one of those two...let alone double downing on them.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 14, 2017 -> 05:30 PM) I would tell you to look beyond stats and learn to appreciate the game of baseball and how hard it is to succeed everyday. Understand its complexities. I don't have time to listen to people criticize all the time. It's as if folks think players struggle because they want to fail You have a point here. I just went out and played baseball with some people today and yesterday...first time playing in a few years. I forgot how hard it was to throw a ball accurately consistently and to hit a well-thrown pitch well. I'm gonna be so sore just from running, swinging a bat and throwing a ball....after 2 days. These guys do it every day. Amazing. That being said, I think Frazier would be an amazing coach/manager some day. If not for an MLB team, certainly a hs team or even little league.
  14. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 14, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) Or do it, lol If he wins, we definitely should
  15. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 13, 2017 -> 06:26 PM) That guy is incredibly lucky. Started two guys who didn't play during his streak who were NL players who didn't play that day and didn't end up with a pinch hit AB, which would have likely ended the streak. But because they got no AB's his streak was preserved. My longest streak is around 16-18 twice. The game is pretty much impossible its much harder to win than a mega millions or powerball jackpot. Yeah, my longest was last year and I got like 26. Apparently this is the first year this guy has played. I think it will be a really cool story if he wins it. I wonder if they will do beat the streak next year if he does...i mean that's a lot of money to just shell out.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2017 -> 10:40 PM) Extended to 51 on Harper walkoff Just saw the walk off. This guy could be a multi millionaire by Tuesday if he keeps doing the double down. That's nuts.
  17. For anyone who plays beat the streak, I've been following the leaderboard for a few days now, and someone has just tied the all time record (set last year) at 49. He just needs 8 more in a row to win 5 million dollars. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out, as much as I wish it were me lol, I hope this one wins!!!
  18. This team is just boring to watch. Nothing exciting, no exciting players. Hahn was right when he said this would be painful process.
  19. Starting to watch less and less of these games, and when I actually do watch, the more I fantasize about a dominant rotation consisting of Quintana, Rodon, Lopez, Giolito/Kopech, and Fulmer, and a lineup consisting of the star Moncada, an Anderson who has figured things out, an April 2017 Avi, an August Abreu, a healthy speedy Charlie Tilson, a nice surprise in Basabe, a 40 homerun hitter in Davidson, an amazing defensive catcher in Collins, etc etc. The future is bright folks. Remain patient. Patience is key. I like the looks of this 2019/2020 lineup: Moncada, Anderson, Abreu, Avi, DH?, Davidson, Basabe?, Collins?, Tilson
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 12, 2017 -> 07:26 PM) ugh. rough start to the year for TA in more ways than one. Didn't someone else close to him die during spring training?, Not sure about that, but I think there was complications with his newborn.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 12, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Can they put him on the bereavement list for that? Guessing it has to be a family member. I saw a story on it, it was his close friend. Shot near Alabama State.
  22. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 11, 2017 -> 10:49 PM) You have to catch the ball. Literally
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) Eaton Pretty sure Eaton came from AZ with a trade for Addison Reed...unless there was a 3 team trade deal in there I'm not aware of.
  24. Anyone else not able to hear Benetti or Stone?
