  1. QUOTE (Moncada @ May 15, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) You can double down now and pick 2 The guy is probably gonna lose his streak tonight Yeah...not sure why he picked either one of those two...let alone double downing on them.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 14, 2017 -> 05:30 PM) I would tell you to look beyond stats and learn to appreciate the game of baseball and how hard it is to succeed everyday. Understand its complexities. I don't have time to listen to people criticize all the time. It's as if folks think players struggle because they want to fail You have a point here. I just went out and played baseball with some people today and yesterday...first time playing in a few years. I forgot how hard it was to throw a ball accurately consistently and to hit a well-thrown pitch well. I'm gonna be so sore just from running, swinging a bat and throwing a ball....after 2 days. These guys do it every day. Amazing. That being said, I think Frazier would be an amazing coach/manager some day. If not for an MLB team, certainly a hs team or even little league.
  3. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 14, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) Or do it, lol If he wins, we definitely should
  4. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 13, 2017 -> 06:26 PM) That guy is incredibly lucky. Started two guys who didn't play during his streak who were NL players who didn't play that day and didn't end up with a pinch hit AB, which would have likely ended the streak. But because they got no AB's his streak was preserved. My longest streak is around 16-18 twice. The game is pretty much impossible its much harder to win than a mega millions or powerball jackpot. Yeah, my longest was last year and I got like 26. Apparently this is the first year this guy has played. I think it will be a really cool story if he wins it. I wonder if they will do beat the streak next year if he does...i mean that's a lot of money to just shell out.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2017 -> 10:40 PM) Extended to 51 on Harper walkoff Just saw the walk off. This guy could be a multi millionaire by Tuesday if he keeps doing the double down. That's nuts.
  6. For anyone who plays beat the streak, I've been following the leaderboard for a few days now, and someone has just tied the all time record (set last year) at 49. He just needs 8 more in a row to win 5 million dollars. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out, as much as I wish it were me lol, I hope this one wins!!!
  7. This team is just boring to watch. Nothing exciting, no exciting players. Hahn was right when he said this would be painful process.
  8. Starting to watch less and less of these games, and when I actually do watch, the more I fantasize about a dominant rotation consisting of Quintana, Rodon, Lopez, Giolito/Kopech, and Fulmer, and a lineup consisting of the star Moncada, an Anderson who has figured things out, an April 2017 Avi, an August Abreu, a healthy speedy Charlie Tilson, a nice surprise in Basabe, a 40 homerun hitter in Davidson, an amazing defensive catcher in Collins, etc etc. The future is bright folks. Remain patient. Patience is key. I like the looks of this 2019/2020 lineup: Moncada, Anderson, Abreu, Avi, DH?, Davidson, Basabe?, Collins?, Tilson
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 12, 2017 -> 07:26 PM) ugh. rough start to the year for TA in more ways than one. Didn't someone else close to him die during spring training?, Not sure about that, but I think there was complications with his newborn.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 12, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Can they put him on the bereavement list for that? Guessing it has to be a family member. I saw a story on it, it was his close friend. Shot near Alabama State.
  11. They don't call him mr pessimism for nothing haha
  12. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 11, 2017 -> 10:49 PM) You have to catch the ball. Literally
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) Eaton Pretty sure Eaton came from AZ with a trade for Addison Reed...unless there was a 3 team trade deal in there I'm not aware of.
  14. Anyone else not able to hear Benetti or Stone?
  15. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ May 9, 2017 -> 08:42 PM) Well Pelfrey is very similar to Philip Humber... Are you suggesting he is going to throw a perfect game knock on wood?
  16. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 6, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) Only one division in baseball with 4 out 5 teams above .500.......the toughest division in the game top to bottom is the AL Central. Is this sarcasm? Because if it is not, I whole heartedly disagree with you. The AL East is by far the toughest division.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2017 -> 02:49 PM) Then you keep him, no questions asked +1
  18. Renteria get your moneys worth. This is leadership here.
  19. Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but Q isn't bringing in any talent at the deadline with the way he's pitching this first half.
  20. Only thing Jose has working for him is that outside curve. I believe this will be the first sweep of the year for the Sox against them? Not bad for what we thought they would be honestly.
  21. Turning out to be a typical Q game. Very unlucky, weak contact from Sox offense. Only thing different, Q doesn't look very dominating up there. Unless things turn a corner, everything is going Baltimore's way. Really quite annoying honestly. Kind of like that feeling where you're on a road with a lot of lights, and everyone you get to turns yellow and you're too far away to go through them. And everyone around you is driving like an idiot. That's what this game feels like lol
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2017 -> 08:15 PM) Covey is making about $3000 for every day he's on the roster... I still dont feel bad for him lol
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2017 -> 08:06 PM) He's one of the worst starters I've ever seen get multiple starts for the Sox. I feel bad for him Danks? And I dont feel bad for him. Dude has guaranteed a major league roster spot, and he's making millions. Shouldn't be playing in the majors. Time to end the experiment. Results have been proven to be the same over and over again.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) This should really be it for him. It's not doing anyone any good. Yeah, he has no future with the Sox, and it would probably be easier to dump him if Shields and Rodon werent hurt. On thr other hand, way to come back and strike out Davis after being 2-0. Credit where credit is due I suppose. Then that dumbass balk.
  25. Every time Covey pitches, he reminds me that this is a rebuilding team lol.
