  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) Not sure if this was posted yet but here is something I came across from today: http://www.csnne.com/boston-red-sox/report...ale-trade-talks If no Moncada and Benintendi I will hate that deal.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) Oh my god if we got Kolek for Gonzalez I'd never stop laughing. The Mariners got Vogelbach from the Cubs for Mike f***ing Montgomery so anything is possible.
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) Still disagree. Two very different pitchers. Cool then we'll keep Q and trade Sale. It really doesn't matter what you think because we don't have to trade them now. We have at least 2 years before we'd have to seriously consider trading them soon.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:23 PM) Maybe. I was commenting on the fact that there is a difference in value of each pitcher. There isn't because Q has an extra year of control. They are essentially of equal value. I am all for keeping our players if teams won't pay up.
  5. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) For Sale, I guaran damn tee there'd be atleast one or two ML players to immediately plug into the team. I'm not even suggesting it's what I'd prefer, but knowing the White Sox they'd expect immediate return out of a trade I'd be surprised if they could get that in the middle of the season.
  6. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) Scott Merkin with Sale exclusive first interview since the incident. Sale promptly throws Ventura under the bus. Oh so that was the problem all along. Makes sense - but good luck convincing many people here that the manager matters
  7. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) I wouldn't expect only prospects for Sale, you have to throw in a ML player or two No chance you get that at the trade deadline.
  8. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) That's the exact opposite of how things are now. GM's are desperate, we don't need to sell either but should because the pitching market is thin and Hahn should be receiving deals to knock his sock off. It's always wait a year or two with this ballclub. Before you know if Q or Sale will be injured/ineffective and we'll be shrugging our shoulders wondering why we didn't move one sooner. Meanwhile, it'll still be the same ol' .500 ballclub. The best return possible for Sale will be had in the offseason because it brings ML players into the picture. Since it's the offseason a team can fill those holes without compromising playoff odds midseason. Most teams don't want to give up the entire farm for Sale, so any deal is probably going to require a major league player. Also, take into account that the FA market for pitching this offseason is pretty poor.
  9. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) God I hope you're not Hahn. If you are, learn from last year -- a week stretch of good baseball shouldn't change your opinion of this ballclub. Sell There's no reason to panic sell at a time when your team is reeling and other GM's recognize that and will try to take advantage of an emotional hit of the panic button. Why do you think Hahn's phone is ringing off the hook in the past week? A lot of terrible emotional losses when the team was already on the edge of being out of it. It's like a bunch of vultures circling a dying animal waiting to strike. Like I said, if they really want to move him I'd prefer they be patient and wait a year or two for someone to knock their socks off.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Great game by Gonzalez. Watching CSN and avoiding the negative talk. Mark my words Sale does not get traded If they really want to move him I'd prefer they be patient and wait a year or two for someone to knock their socks off.
  11. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:23 PM) I mean, he really wasn't all that great when he was with Baltimore for a few years. I wonder how it just "clicked" for him when he got to Chicago. He's a little overrated those NL pitchers always are. But he's still good.
  12. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) To come back at this point is to rely too heavily on the poor fortunes of others. Beating or losing to the Cubs has never caused me to change my opinion on the White Sox in the past, it won't change my opinion now. If we can hang in there against better teams no reason to blow everything up IMO. Obviously, move Sale for the right deal if we can get guys who can contribute in the next year but no reason to trade him just to blow it up.
  13. To come out against Arrieta and play like this I'm a little surprised. Maybe this team isn't dead in the water yet after all.
  14. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) Yesss!!!! I'm definitely in sell mode, but whatever runs we can throw on hgh infused Arrieta is an awesome sight! Well we could be only 8 GB after this game if they could go on a hot streak in August we still have 10 games left with CLE. A long shot but not out of the question yet.
  15. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) Miggy has been a hell of a pickup. Hope he gets paid in the off season The Orioles ate a ton of salary by releasing him. He was on a longer term deal.
  16. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Hawk just advocated Sale being traded. It's happening They said you only trade him if it's a grand slam type deal, not a home run. So I don't think they were pushing for one.
  17. With how Gonzalez looks against a team like the Cubs I really think we can compete with Q/Rodon/Gonzalez/Shields/Fulmer but we need to get a great return of near MLB ready players for Sale
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) Shuck is such a ground ball machine. Can we at least get a look at May over Shuck? Engel doesn't look ready quite yet.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) Abreu has lost his power. That's gone in 2014 They were saying on the broadcast the wind is blowing in tonight. It took away Bryant's HR in the 1st too.
  20. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:10 PM) Umps let Cubs get away with one there. He was safe at 1st but the slide at 2nd was borderline interference.
  21. Boy the defense has really fallen off since the beginning of the season.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) Baez for Sale, straight up. I'll take Bryant for Sale
  23. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) Holy Melky Great play there. That one was out of here.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Sox are a disgrace at least this week. Sale is available, but noooo ... he's suspended for no reason. Make him pay for the gawd-damn uniforms and call it a day. Head scratching. Pretty soon they are gonna have no fans. They are testing the fans' patience with their ineptitude. We have about a 3 percent chance of winning this game. My gawd. We're pitching a hack against Arietta. Good luck to us. There's no reason to suspend the guy over what he did. Gonzalez is far from a hack...
  25. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) This is true about them being prospects. I just dont see Quintanas value as that high. He's as valuable as Sale. If Q can't fetch a comparable return to Sale he won't be moved. He's too valuable.
