  1. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) 1.) it's not about pitch count alone. You've got a rookie up who's in his first game with our team after giving up like 900 runs during his last outing against MLB hitters. 2.) he's already thrown a 1 hitter and has a home run. Take him out on a high note. 3.) his pitches were flat the whole inning, he was losing control, he physically looked exhausted. 4.) I would have put in Fulmer. Since the break I would have been using Fulmer a heck of a lot more than he's been used thus far. Fulmer wasn't even warming at that point. It was Albers and Duke. And when Albers is put in and gives up the HR everyone will criticize RV for taking a guy out who was throwing a 1 hitter.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) He was high with his fastball and rolling his curve that whole inning. He looked like he had a water hose in his hat If the ump wasn't giving each team a different strike zone he would've been out of that inning.
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:27 PM) Are you watching the game? He was gassed. Yes I am watching the game. He was at 100 pitches. And he gave up 1 hit in almost 7 innings. Your alternative is Albers with a runner on first. Seriously?
  4. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) Ranaudo pitched a hell of a game....I would have left him in also. That 3-2 breaking pitch was right in Meat City tho...seems like Baez knew what was coming. Hard to be upset at this kids outing tho...also since he's the only person that's accounted for any scoring. He threw the same pitch to Heyward on 3-2 the batter before.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) Completely agree. I was just telling my buddy I wouldn't leave him in to face Baez after 100+ pitches and the 4th walk. Albers with runners on? No thanks
  6. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) He was done and giving him the chance cost us 2 runs (and likely the game). Robin's stupid decisions have cost us at least 12-15 games this year and will be the reason we fail to make the playoffs. That was his second hit allowed how can you say he was "done"?
  7. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) I don't know if you want a minor league pitcher going 100+ pitches. I'm fine with keeping him in over Albers there.
  8. That was for sure his last batter. Too bad he couldn't get the previous 3-2 pitch over.
  9. He deserves at least a couple more starts IMO. If he could fill a hole at minimal cost left by a Sale or Q trade even going into 2017 that would be huge.
  10. Ranaudo is so much better than Turner. Just DFA Turner and keep Ranaudo up with the team.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 06:24 PM) He's now walked 7 of last 9 hitters he's seen. That's as bad as I've ever seen. Gotta be nerves or something he wasn't doing this in AAA lately.
  12. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) ME Red Sox - Sale for Moncada, Benitedi, Swihart, Owens and Rodriguez. Rangers - Sale for Mazara, Profar, Gallo, Tate and Ortiz Nationals - Sale for Joe Ross, Trea Turner, Fedde, Lopez, and Glover Cubs - Sale for Schwarber, Baez, Hendricks, Happ and Candelario Dodgers - Sale for Urias, De Leon, Verdugo, Montas and Puig I'll take Moncada, Benitendi, Devers and Rodriguez for Sale. I don't want Owens or Swihart.
  13. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) I like the rangers as a partner for Chris Sale if we trade him. I really like the Mazara kid. But instead of tate I would take Matualla From what I've read Mazara was never on the table. They didn't even want to give up Profar and Gallo.
  14. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 12:15 AM) I understand some people think everything Williams' says is cryptic with hidden meaning, but taking the comments as they are this is exactly why we should be rooting not to win anymore games through the deadline. Six games shouldn't decide our team's future, but say they win six straight from here to make it ten in a row, does anyone forsee them still selling? Hell if they win 4 of the next 6 I'd still have my doubts. I'd hate to ask these hypotheticals, but really, what is the dividing point between selling or standing pat? I don't think it's a certainty. We're some damn fickle as an organization and concerned about ghosts of the White Flag trade, and pissing off the fanbase, I honestly believe they'd go every season "mired in mediocrity" if it just allowed them not to have to make a tough decision. Now if you think Williams is posturing, I'd ask why -- are we really going to gain much from fooling people into thinking we're buyers? It doesn't even matter what is said because Sale or Q are not going anywhere unless a no brainer deal comes along. And so far no team has shown a willingness to part with any significant value from what I have seen leaked. The better question is why do you want Hahn and KW conducting a fire sale? If the team finishes the year poorly RV and the front office might get canned.
  15. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) I'm very interested to see how he looks after seeing him get lit up by us when he was with Texas earlier this season. We didn't light him up he just walked 5 guys then the guy they brought in after gave up a grand slam to the next batter. So as long as he doesn't start walking people like crazy he should be decent imo.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) The trade deadline tease is upon us. I don't think anyone was getting moved regardless. This offseason is probably when it will happen. I thought nobody wanted Hahn to trade Sale or Q. Why the change now?
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) That one is on Tim. Shuck would've had to dive for it that one could've been ugly
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) Me too. I don't like what I'm hearing from a lot of these leaked rumors I'm hoping we keep our pitching now. These teams are offering nowhere near what we should be getting for these guys if they are traded.
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) I meant next season. This season he's in the pen. But if he's already on the roster why are they not interested in seeing what he is capable of in a starting role in the past 3 starts.
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) LOL no he isn't. Go tell that to Rick Hahn. Why is he in the majors then and why did Turner and now Ranuado get spot starts over Fulmer? Actions speak louder than words
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:41 PM) Fulmer is a starter. I'm just not a big believer in this pen going forward. Fulmer is a pen guy that we spot start in event of injury next year.
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:33 PM) They don't have the pen Are you saying Robertson, Jones, Putnam, Petricka, Burdi, Fulmer, Jennings isn't going to be enough next year?
  23. QUOTE (Green Line @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:27 PM) Wow, made our guys look silly. Btw the atmosphere at these games has been so awesome. Our fans are SO ready for some meaningful/playoff games, just look at them! It's a far cry from 2 years ago when this rivalry hit rock bottom. I wish the Sox would give us what we want. I wish JR would just spend the money in FA to fill the holes. This team has the pitching and bullpen to contend if healthy.
  24. Frazier just struck out on a ball that bounced before the plate
