The Chapman scenario is the only positive one I keep seeing. The Cubs were breaking a curse longer than a century. It was worth it to them to give up Torres. Houston won't nearly be as desperate.

And him being called up in mid april doesn't guarantee he will have a good peak year in 2026. I would call him up August 1st two get two months in. If he struggles, he has something to work on in the offseason. If we sign some pitchers and a RF then he definitely should be called up.

That's not the argument. The argument is giving away a contention year next year for a possible contention year in 2026. You can still re-sign Robert, but you don't know if by 2026 you will still have Moncada, Kopech, Gio, etc. It's a tough decision to make either way in my opinion.

Very good points. I'd also like Robert to be up to get acclimated by Jose as well. Having an entire offseason to get mentorship for the game and city life here by Abreu, Moncada, Timmy, and Eloy gets that bonding in motion.

Well our FO better bank on getting quality players in FA or they need to leave. If you get two starters to pair with Gio and Cease, you can kinda take a soft blow of Kopech and Rodon needing more time or starting in the pen if it came to that. This entire rebuild is based around our FO bringing in talent to supplement our roster. Get it done or get out.

Bingo. I think most people want to wait until mid April to call them up, but will feel salty if we lost the division because of it. Especially if we turned it on big time later in the season and look like a true championship contender.
