Sox have team meeting after game
I'd like to see a few free agents added to the team on one year deals if need be. These guys need to taste some success if we want to contend in 2020. I'd be okay with 75+ wins, and although it seems unlikely now, that should be a goal. Our rebuild started ahead of the Cubs and Astros so we shouldn't be on a completely linear path.

Sox have team meeting after game
74-88 is a bad baseball team. 48 to 58 wins is a disgrace, but in our case I 'll take it. Next year we need to see a team that can approach .500.

Probably because we look like shit in general, not only against the best. It's a tough year for everyone. Hopefully next year will offer some light for our tunnel.

Yeah I gave up on Fulmer being a TOR guy a long time ago. I'm hoping he can be a bullpen specialist at the least.

Lopez looks solid and can be at least a number 5. Hopefully Giolito can at least give us a four, leaving our 2 and 3 as Kopech and Rodon.

Surprise: Rosenbloom article bashes Sox/Renteria
I think you are still misunderstanding what people were saying. If we had him here already, and we paid a contract the same as others, it may be the factor that keeps him here without having to overpay by a mile. If we pay the same as everyone else and he never played here, he'd have no reason to pick us over anyone else. No one said having him here and paying him less than anyone else would keep him here.

Okay so we will start competing in 2021 then. Nice.

Trust the process
I'm not sure if you were responding to me, but my point was you don't want to be like the Pirates in that you have no playoff success to show for a rebuild. With said rebuild ending in a few years. We will have money and will need to lock our most important guys up, some of the rest will have to be replaced with savvy moves.

Trust the process
The Sox want to compete in 2020. You are not wasting service time like people keep saying. You are getting prospects up to speed so that you can compete for a championship in 2020-2023 for sure. If we hold all of these guys down til next year and 2020, our window becomes 2021-2023. Either way, a year will be "wasted". Our FO needs to worry about keeping the core guys now and having guys who can replace those who leave to avoid a Pirates situation.

Good job OP. And I couldn't stomach getting swept by them in the fashion that was taking place thus far. At some point pride and dignity must kick in.

Draft Profile: 2B Nick Madrigal, Oregon State
I have a feeling that whoever we take this year will be traded for a veteran of need next season.

Well you wouldn't obviously say it in that manner, but that is how we feel about it. You come up with some sap story of family legacy and buy Sox gear for him early on. You may even have him watch games when you two are together. And don't feel bad because women control most of the things our kids will do anyway, so it's a victory we deserve lol.

No way a fan walks into Sox Park this year and gets that feeling. I've been to a lot of games and the park has been dead with zero afterlife energy even. I told my fiancee all boys will be Sox fans for sure. That is non negotiable as men control the sports scene in the house. I don't really care about the girls because even die hard girl baseball fans are casual with it. Last thing I need is a son with baseball knowledge like us to be a Cubs fan. Fuck no. That being said, you should have at least waited for the series in September to make that beat.

Great Relevant Article On Luck Involved On Rebuilds
I don't trust the drafting or the free agent veteran signings at all. It could get better for sure, but they will have to prove themselves.

Stop complaining. All rebuilds succeed when you intentionally look bad because all draft picks higher than 5 succeed. This means we should expect to lose badly in every game and not feel any ounce of sadness or frustration, for any reason.

The analogy was bad anyway, although I loved how people were praising him for it. If the Sox rebuild was short and certain of working out great, no one would care. A better example would be him hiring a guy who has never done a kitchen before, but has the potential to do it correctly. The guy also needs at least a year to finish it, and if he failed you wouldn't have a kitchen for a few more years.

Let's not make up straw man scenarios. I could just as easily say sitting him til next year will make him mad and lose control out of frustration. If he is the guy we expect him to be, he will have ups and downs but will be fine pitching later this season. We have coaches who can reign a guy in who wants to overcompensate for the team's failures anyway.

Nope neither of those. People want them to come up this summer to gain experience, so that by 2020 our team is ready to try and get a championship. If they come up next year like some want, then 2020 will become a learning year as well. Either way, you lost a year because of bringing them up before next year, or because they are learning in the 2020 window. Another reason to bring them up soon is so free agents can get a look at our roster coming together. No one is signing with this shit show of a team right now, but if they start building momentum later this season, guys may just give us a chance if the money is right.
