  1. Why does every last thing have to be figured out before Spring Training? Last off-season, Hahn supposedly had everything figured out with Encarnacion,, Mazara, Gio-Gonzalez, Cishek.. Maybe stand pat and let the season play out a bit to find out where the leaks are before trying to plug holes. Then you know you are spending money and allocating resources precisely where they are needed. IMO..
  2. Assuming that the White Sox have something left in their International Pool money and they use it to sign Colas right now for less than his market value. How long would it be before the White Sox could extend him to a longer term major league Contract (i.e., two years plus option)? I guess I am trying to figure out a way to do what the White Sox and Colas want to do but can't because of the International signing rules. There has to be a way to do what both sides want.
  3. The Senate has the power to issue subpoenas, make requests for documents, call witnesses to testify and conduct open hearings. Hopefully they will find out how Trump's attempted coup almost succeeded, who was behind iy, and why. We also need to hold the 139 Republican Congressmen responsible: "January 6, 2021, will surely live in infamy—the day the United States Capitol was stormed by a mob, forcing legislators to evacuate in a rush and leaving five dead, including a police officer. The most dangerous part of that day for the country as a whole, however, was not what happened when the insurrectionists fought their way into the Capitol in the afternoon, but what happened just a few hours later on the floor. After all that mayhem, the legislators were escorted back to the chamber under heavily armed escort, and a stunning 139 representatives—66 percent of the House GOP caucus—along with eight GOP senators, promptly voted to overturn the election, just as the mob and the president had demanded. Unlike the insurrectionists, they were polite and proper about it. But the danger they pose to our democracy is much greater than that posed by the members of the mob, who can be identified and caught, and who will face serious legal consequences for their acts. Donald Trump’s ignominious departure from office—whether he is impeached and removed, resigns, or simply sulks away in disrepute—will leave us to solve the problem of the politicians who worked hard to convince millions that the election had been stolen, and then voted to steal it themselves. " Most House Republicans Did What the Rioters Wanted
  4. I want to see Trump tried in the Senate so they get to the bottom of s what went on leading up to the Jan 6 Capitol invasion by Trump loyalists. We need to know, so this never happens again.
  5. There are always options for a fifth starter. It's no big deal for a club that should blow out a lot of opposing 4 and 5 starters. Stand pat.
  6. The notion that a President cannot commit a crime while in Office (which was stated in some kind of a Justice Dept. memo) doesn't seem to make sense. For example, if the Senate found Trump guilty of Inciting an Insurrection against the government (or even Treason) , he just walks away Scott free ? Oh yea, he committed Treason or whatever but his term is now up so OK, no problemo. If a President cannot be held liable for any crime while in office then Trump may not need a self-pardon. He just relies on that and his Supreme Court Justices to knock down any attempt to Prosecute him for any crimes while on Office.
  7. Unfortunately, there are a lot of bigots and haters that post on these message boards. I'll just scroll on by this one.
  8. I wonder if Trump waits until Tuesday night before Pardon Palooza. Maybe he will announce the Pardons at his farewell address on the tarmack hours before Biden is sworn in. This guy is going to Pardon his family, Kyle Rittenhouse, the guy that had horns on at the Jan 6 rally, Kushner Jr., Rudy Guiliani, and any other Trump loyalist who is or might be subject to criminal prosecution. And yes, he will Pardon the biggest crook of all, himself. Then he will have a leave the WH using tax payer funds to fly him down to Florida . Of course with the return flight of AF One after he is out of Office will be on us as well. The Senate has to try Trump for high crimes. Conduct Discovery, call witnesses, and get a Conviction.
  9. I like ReyLo's durability and the speed on his fastball. He might be a tweak or two away from being a very good starter.
  10. Racial intolerance is the new racism. That supercharged Trump's political power with loyal support from white supremacists like those who marched in Charlottesville and those who stormed the Capitol. But racial intolerance is not only found at the fringe. Mainstream Republican ideology dovetails with racial intolerance in many ways - segregation, refusal to acknowledge the impact of generations of slavery, discrimination, unequal policing and justice There can be no compromise with bigotry and racism. They have to be defeated. That didn't happen after the Civil War and probably won't happen for several more generations. So forget the notion that there will ever be unity between Trumpublicans and Democrats. Not gonna happen.
  11. Al's Beef No Cheese, ever. https://youtu.be/Rj1M6B9f97Q?t=5
  12. The team is not built for a final hurrah. The Sox are in good shape for many years to come. Sox fans are excited. No amount of talent will guarantee a championship. They can stand pat as far as additional trades or acquisitions and I will be happy.
  13. Assuming arguendo that Bauer is not signed by the Sox, then why not wait until Spring Training to see what the potential 3,4,5 pitchers on our roster have? Maybe our staff does not need another back of rotation question mark.
  14. This move makes it clear that Crochet and Kopech will be given every opportunity to become starting pitchers. The Sox could use some depth in case of injury at a few positions including catcher, Otherwise, all fired up, ready to go.
  15. I heard tRump put funny nose glasses on and took a pic for a new Twitter account under the name "John Baron,"
  16. God forbid it is was black Muslims..Shoot to kill, right?
  17. and you don't get the point.
  18. Capital Hill, Seattle... LOL.
  19. I didn't see one Trumper who breached the Capitol building and grounds get beaten with a billy club or get shot like a dog. Most of the cops are Trumpers themselves you know.. As many commentators have opined, if BLM tried to storm the Capitol in a similar fashion, there would be carnage. Meanwhile, Trump should resign or be removed by Impeachment or the 25th Amendment. Pence has to break ranks or go down in flames with this himself.
  20. Our eight starting position players might be one of the best in White Sox history. This is an awesome team from top to bottom. They are going to destroy a lot of pitchers. Can't wait for Spring Training.
  21. Madrigal is a perfect compliment to this White Sox line-up. He waits for strikes, then invariably puts the ball in play instead of whiffing. Then the power hitters come up and drive him in - classic bloop and a blast baseball where Madrigal is the bloop. Nelson Fox who had a lifetime .288 batting average and averaged 2HR per year. I think Madrigal can become what Nellie was in all aspects of the game. Madrigal is a keeper. There is zero chance that he gets traded any time soon. The 2021 W Sox have a beautiful mix of power, speed, and smart contact hitting salted with a bit of of bravado. Madrigal is part of a core that will make a run for the championship for the next few seasons.
  22. Personal family stuff that is probably a bad idea to comment on.
  23. Why not wait for the trading deadline to add a Closer?
  24. Trump's criminal Intent was as clear as light. He threatened the Ga. SOS by telling him that he would be committing a crime if he didn't follow his plan to find votes .....and then Trump stated that he was putting him on Notice. That was egregious.. Trump put the arm on him like he was a mafia boss.
