A lot of us may have overrated our team...or underrated the losses of Eloy and Robert, the loss of McCann (given the offensive numbers that Collins and Grandall have been putting up) and maybe we over-rated our bullpen. OK LaRussa, LaRussa LaRussa, but maybe we just aren't what some of us thought we were - a top tier team .

DA: I encourage you to look at the video of Mercedes glancing down to the third base coach for a sign, seemingly ignoring it or blowing it off, and loading up for the meaningless HR already while up 11 runs at the end of the game. He pimped it a bit and all the gold necklaces jangling around his neck as he rounded the bases didn't take away from that perception. Forget what you think about LaRussa for a minute (and it has already been discussed ad nauseum) wouldn't it serve Mercedes better as a rookie to be a little more low key, more respectful and a bit humble? Or maybe that is another old school, unwritten rule that doesn't matter either.

Throwing a guy out at home instead of going to first is a standard play for a third basemen. It is is not comparable to what Mercedes did . Not even close. Benetti went there though. I wonder if JR is listening to that garbage.

Benetti is a stroke.

Vaughn might be the most overrated rookie on the Sox since Brian Anderson. Soon he might be hitting below the Mendoza line as someone pointed out. Most of our players do not have respectable batting averages. Collins and Grandal? Leury, Hamilton, Eaton, Lamb, Mendick.. LOB is a joke for some guys who you would expect to be knocking in key runs. OBP is OK for say Grandal, but you have to hit if you want to compete for a championship and you need a lot of home runs. w/o Eloy and Robert and a reliable bullpen, this is beginning to look like a middle of the road team that has boosted its current W/L record against sub .500 teams.

If Hendriks held them in the 9th, who pitches for the Sox in the 10th with a ghost runner at second, nobody out? Hendriks again? You can question every decision you want. The Sox just got beat in a close game that could have gone either way. Vaughn hitting into the triple play was brutal. It is what it is. Try to beat Cole tomorrow.

What if Tony put in Liam and he pitched a 35 pitch inning before giving up the winning run ? Hasn't Hendriks been lit up late, including home runs to RF ? You can Monday morning quarterback every decision. That doesn't make you smarter than any major league Manager.

Did you watch the triple play?

5/21 Chicago @ New York 6:05
You wanted to bring him in a tie game with day games tomorrow and Sunday? It was a possibility but still no guarantee. Marshall has been rather bad and I was disappointed in the home run off Kopech. I did not like the fastball i.by Michael in that situation. Oh well, very well played and managed ballgame by both teams. Vaughn's triple play and Marshall's 9th inning costs us the ballgame.

How did the Sox get Hamilton to second with no outs?
-
5/21 Chicago @ New York 6:05
He was out. Fucking Vaughn.

That triple play was a game-changing nut buster. Vaughn has been in a slump and is probably the slowest player on the team. I think Vaughn should have been pinch hit for by anyone who could have bunted. Second and third with one out instead of a triple play and out of the inning.

Your calling a guy a liar for stating the truth - it was a great game.
-
5/21 Chicago @ New York 6:05
Yea, hitting into the double play would have been bad enough.
-
5/21 Chicago @ New York 6:05
Great game but it sucks if we lose it.

Vaughn just a little too slow to beat out an around the horn triple play. Painful.

LaRussa won the argument. He is the White Sox Manager. You lost. You have some anonymous posters that agree with you. I am united with Sox fans that want to win more than they care about this kind of nonsense and spin.

LaRussa is the White Sox manager and will remain so for the remainder of the 2021 season. Whine all you want and stay as miserable as you wish. The season shall proceed notwithstanding these min-tirades from disgruntled LaRussa haters and closet cub fans.
