  1. I have to admit that some of the lingo in the above posts is outside my vocabulary range, but I got the drift. Gross.
  2. As I recall, from a long interview with Garfein done toward the end of ST, Meidroth indicated that he preferred to play second base over SS, and enjoyed making the pivot from that position to make double plays. I am not sure he has the range and arm strength to get runners from deep short but that is only based on what I have read, not what I have seen. The reality is that the Sox will deploy him at any position as they see fit and he won't complain. Chase will just be happy that he is being being called up to the major league. Congratulations Chase.
  3. I could care less about service time. Play the best players available and deal fairly with them if they prove worthy down the road,
  4. It's really bush league for players to diss their former organization(s). I could never stand that fatazz in Chicago from day one. Fvk him.
  5. IMO, Kwan probably would have gunned down Tauchman considering the way he lumbered around third and could not advance a base earlier in the game. A hold sign at third might have resulted in a loss as well, but you hate to get thrown out at the plate to end the game. Hopefully another lesson learned for the young Manager.
  6. Narvaez instead of Quero or Teel for that matter, is just more of the same...another 30 something player (33 actually) that is a temporary plug-in by Getz seeking an easy fix to try to stabilize the line-up and probably, the tenure of his job. Agree or disagree with his moves, this guy has no balls whatsoever. His goal is to improve the team slightly from the worst record in history. So anyway, I wasted my time looking at Narvaez BA over the last 3 seasons.. .206, .211, 154. ....way off his days with the WSox. This guy is toast. Turn the page already. Give the fans something interesting to watch...not these washed up veterans who can no longer even run the bases.
  7. Let's not drift into ancillary points about conditioning and training. Bottom line - there was a pinch runner on the bench that was not deployed for a hobbled, slow, old, gassed player. We will never know, but absent the injury, I doubt Tauchman had the stamina or the legs to beat the throw. Obviously Sox need several things but at the top of the list would be a Closer and maybe a burner/base stealer. We all know the rest of the list.
  8. Call both Teel and Quero up
  9. ISFA will do whatever it takes (again) to keep the Sox on 35th. If there was an alternate location me and some Southsiders would be OK with the Credit Union 1 site in Tinley.
  10. KW and Hahn deserved to be fired but, knowing how JR usually treats employees and players, the way they were dismissed was unusual. Basically they were told, pick up your sh 1t and get out of here....and neither one has commented about their sudden departure since.
  11. Getz dive into the 30+ veterans' dumpster has yielded players that, as was said above, are blocking Teel, Meidroth and Quero. Moreover, they are not helping to win games or adding an ounce of excitement to the games. Getz is attempting to cover his azz with a lame strategy to eek out a few more wins, and even that has backfired.
  12. If the Sox get swept by Cleveland (which is possible and even likely) , maybe we will see Meidroth (2B), Quero DH), and Teel (C) up and some demotions and DFAs to make room for them. Forget Rojas. Leave Vargas at 3B for a few more series.
  13. Jerry Reinsdorf's father was a sewing machine salesman. Ishbia and his brother were nepo babies. The Sox don't need another greedy billionaire owner. Instead they need new management that, among other things, begins signing high priced talent. It's never too early to start doing that.
  14. The Sox are designed to lose over 100 games. So at least make it more entertaining like the Washington Generals did or maybe like Bill Veeck often tried to do. Replacing winning with laughter. Put a midget at DH and use position players to pitch after the 5th inning. Get another Andy the clown to entertain the fans. It is a joke now but at least make it a fun joke.
  15. Where of course and how and what. The estate reminds one of the excesses of Trump's Mar-a-Lago. And then there was a bit of billionaire bully boy involved. Fvk this guy . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13641203/Justin-Ishbia-Phoenix-Suns-mansion-Lake-michigan.html https://www.thedailybeast.com/billionaire-justin-ishbias-estate-plans-divide-wealthy-winnetka-illinois/
  16. When the value of the franchise is at its lowest he Ishby could make an offer to purchase enough shares to gain control of the franchise. Private equity principles would seem to suggest that he looks to make a temporary improvement to the team and then sell at a profit.

  18. To me Getz embodies the Peter principle. He is well-intended but in over his head. Maybe demote him to assistant and get someone else to run the team.
  19. I would like to see JR and the Sox brass direct Getz to acquire decent players at almost any cost to get this team out of the hole they are in. Realistically, Rick and Kenny left a mess that will take years to clean up, and they wasted and made millions for themselves doing it. Baldwin reminds of Colson Montgomery in several ways - too tall and slinky to play infield, low baseball IQ, and plenty of swings and misses. On another point, it will not be soon enough when they bring up Chase Meidroth and Kyle Teel.
  20. Demanding 40 bucks a car? To park where? Dude. The Sox don't even accept cash for a beer let alone for parking. I assume that the Chicago Police were on that as they are all around the park on game days.
  21. What you believe will happen is just that, a belief. You make some well-intentioned presumptions like one billionaire sees a goldmine and therefore will acquire and operate a baseball franchise like you think it should be operated. I assume, that would be laying out hundreds of millions towards future player contracts....maybe land the next Ohtani beating out the Yanks and Dodgers. Maybe outspend the Cubs and outdraw the Cubs. Unfortunately you cannot be sure we can assume that this billionaire, a private equity specialist, is less greedy than the billionaires that currently control the team. Based on what I see, I think it is quite the opposite. Multiple choice question: Who built a 66,760 square foot mansion in that White Sox fan bastion on the North shore, Winnetka, IL for $70 Million: a. Joe Ricketts b. Warren Buffet c. Donald Trump d. Jerry Reinsdorf e. Justin Ishbia f. Mellody Hobson
  22. Fvk Ishbia. Some treat him like some sort of potential savior of the franchise . Oh sure, he is going to do you as a fan some sort of favor by casting aside personal gain and private equity principles to gamble money on enormous player contracts. You think he is some kind of gaddamn fool? How did his probing for a majority ownership stake work out for Minnesota fans? In reality this guy is just looking for another deal to make himself wealthier. As Americans, we should all know by now that immense greed is a disease that spreads quickly among the billionaire class. You know a lot of these guys by name.
  23. Yes, I admit that it is depressing to see how Minnesota still appears better than the Sox but no reason to stop trying to improve this team and win as many games as possible.
  24. I'm against abuse of service time strategy and intentional tanking.
