  1. The biggest hole in the bottom of the line-up is not with the RFer but at catcher. Not sure how long that Teel's rehab is going to take but it is maddening to see so many ABs given away by Romo and Quero. They have both run into one here and there, but more often than not, they kill rallies.
  2. Cauli: I watched Sandelin's stuff and his fast ball seemed pretty good (up to 98mph) but his off-speed pitches, particularly his curve ball seemed to lack a little of the bite that it had in his debut. Perhaps the humidity had something to do with that, I don't know..Do you think that his pitch selection could also have been an issue? I thought that when he got torched on a high outside fastball that Marchon seemed too ready for. Maybe Teel will have a better feel for calling a game than Romo or Edgar.
  3. I didn't realize it but Jacob is a pretty large player compared to our other second basemen. He's built like a 1B/DH. When Gonzalez was promoted to fill in for Mune, Venable stated that he was not going to alter the infield configuration beyond what was required. I think he made a good decision. Gonzalez has done a great job defensively and has shown some discipline at the plate and of course that HR power. I still miss Mune though..
  4. "Peters is going to post the highest BABIP in baseball over the past six years, especially given his minor league profile, then you aren’t a serious poster. " Makes no sense. I am fine with Peters in every way moving forward, and he has been durable. " In the future, please keep your little pout fests in the 78 thread." Sounds like a cheap threat but I'm not intimidated. I will post when I feel I am adding something of value, like I did recently on the "78 thread" by posting about Phillip Bess' 1987 "Bill Veeck Park" plan for the 78. I also suggested a possible alternate site on the NE corner of 18th and Canal. I have questioned the use of the Airline Bridge for pedestrian traffic, but that was based on facts. Meanwhile, what have you added to that thread ? Not one thing. I am not a "dinosaur" but I reject the content and tone of your responses to me. Maybe put me on your ignore list. You seem quite angry and irrational.
  5. I just deal in facts that are inconvenient for some people.
  6. If you have been watching games....since Opening Day, you might not agree with"regression" from Peters. It's entirely the opposite of that. Now what are you saying about me?
  7. LMFAO. Watch the game and try to figure it out.
  8. Tough day to pitch against a power hitting team with the wind there.
  9. I guess you missed the double he hit . Just missed being a HR.
  10. Nice heads up/aggressive running by Chase. And no sign of "regression" from Peters.
  11. Sandelin looks OK to me. Ump has made several bad calls.
  12. Who would Chowlowsky eventually replace (Montgomery, Vargas, Chase) and how much added value would he bring at that position ?
  13. The ISFA (Illinois taxpayers) own Rate Field and additional property around the stadium. Once the White Sox leave, the ISFA can choose to either repurpose Rate Field (doubtful), abandon it, or demolish it. Demo and clearing the land seems like the most likely scenario (in order to sell vacant property to a private developer). Soldier Field presents a much different and more complicated set of options given its location and the involvement of the City and the Park District.
  14. Kay (and other mediocre pitchers) cannot compete against a superior line-up like this. He just doesn't have the stuff.
