I have XFinity high speed Internet only. I purchased the CSHN App and it has been just awful - buffering, loss of connectivity, and a non-intuitive layout where some selections just freeze the app. The default cc is captioning, which you have to turn off every time. The quality of the picture is not nearly as good as the former CSHN OTA channel. So you pay more for less.

Exactly. If the Sox aren't even going to try to win, why should our fans watch ? Why should advertisers support the Sox ? Why should the media take them seriously ? Meanwhile where is the Ishbia clan with all their billions? They have a large ownership interest in the team with the exclusive right to take control. What is the advantage to them of letting this kind of damage to the franchise and depression of the fan base continue on? I think a loser image is beginning to emerge and no one wants to be part of that or of waving the white flag.

IMO, the worst part of this team (and there are several) is the bullpen. They cannot throw strikes when they need to or keep opponents from hitting ball-busting late inning home runs. Sox have been getting some decent starts even lasting into the 6th inning, then the bullpen blows it. Maybe Katz needs to go as do some of these stiffs in the pen.

So many great ideas like those you mention could result in a great stadium that respects and honors baseball history on the South side, Zachary Taylor Davis' designs of Comiskey and Wrigley, and a park that takes full financial advantage of everything that is already in place. Regarding your point about opening up left field to a view of the neighborhood to the North and a view of downtown, that was the original design before they added the second deck. Likewise, Wrigley was a different park before Ricketts ruined the view with the giant scoreboard in LF and the other large screens blocking out the neighborhood. I recall seeing Dave Kingman hit what I believe was one of his longest, soaring home runs there. It isn't just you and I that think the giant scoreboard in LF at Wrigley is an abomination. Paul Sullivan has complained about the same thing.

As far as taking down free OTA broadcasts, this might be history repeating itself and that wasn't all good.

LOL @ Kyle. Access off Randolph in some form or another could be a game changer for this parcel as well as provision for a sufficient amount of parking. Coming from the South via Wells is not a good solution for a lot of traffic. Interesting plan though. Good luck to the Fire.

Regarding the latest proposed site plan: It doesn't look like there is any access directly from Clark street (which ramps down for several blocks along the RR tracks). Anyway, I am wondering about details of the proposed ramp at the intersection of LaSalle and Randolph. Do you suppose that Related is proposing a stoplight at the top of that ramp? I can't discern that detail on the site plan. Also, how steep would that that ramp need to be in order to work down to 13th St. ? Something like S. Kedzie next to the former Nabisco plant ("Nabisco hill" as we called it when we were kids) ?

IMO, one has to watch or attend a lot of games in order to make sweeping judgments about this team. Quero, Teel, Vargas, and Meidroth have been surprisingly good and fun to watch ... if you enjoy baseball or the White Sox. But it's your ballgame here so whatever.

He was hitting .215 in 130 ABs with 3 HR (and almost a 4th that hit on the tape). He had 4 errors in 89 games in '24 and '25 playing 2B, SS, 3B and all 3 outfield positions. (I think .980 fielding %) Not great stats, but a start for a young player. IMO, the Sox should let him focus on one position rather than 6. Maybe forget switch hitting and focus on his stronger side. Really, some leadership by the Sox development people that provides a sensible plan for this player would be great. Instead, he is branded as a switch hitting utility player and then bring him in to pinch hit against a MLB Closer before he gets sent down.

The Sox need to slot Baldwin into one defensive position, like 1B or 2B so he can specialize his defensive skills. IMO, Baldwin needs to respect major league pitching more than he does AAA pitching. Cut down on the HR swing, especially with 2 strikes. They expected Elko and Baldwin to save a sinking ship and were disappointed that they couldn't. This is not the team for a a prospect or any new player to try to break-in with. Patience has worn thin and understandably so. They just can't stop losing no matter what they do.

No reason to waste any money or time on a useless player like Fletcher when the Sox already have Taylor signed for this season. Just run with him now and figure something else out for next season. Back to the main point of my post though, getting rid of Robert Jr. may at least help to improve team morale. Everyone, fans and players alike, are sick of watching Robert pursue his own future financial interests with some vague hope that a trade will bring something that is worth enduring this nonsense.

Let's stop with the woe is me and acknowledge that the loss was expected against DeGrom. Sox made a game of it but, as usual, just didn't have enough gas left in the tank to close it out. The players like us are understandably tired of losing. IMO, Sox need to trade Luis Robert as soon as possible to rid the clubhouse of his presence. Put Michael Taylor out there until they figure out what to do next.

Well Baldwin will get more than one at bat to see if he can improve on his .215 average but he has to cut down on the big swing especially with two strikes or his batting average will suffer and he will be demoted again. Elko is hitting .155. I root for him to get solid contact but for the most part he is getting over-matched by mlb pitchers. He has to figure something out pretty soon to stay on the roster. Getz and Venable are proving that their patience with any under-performing player has limits. When Vaughn was demoted, every player was put on notice.

No matter how you shuffle the line-up, this team finds a way to lose close games. They have never gained any momentum and seem to lack whatever it takes to get that going. It seems like losing so many close games has demoralized the team and our fans.

Give Baldwin another shot. He has played first base and has power. I know, he only hit .215 but Elko does not look like he will break the .200 barrier.

Zach Collins, Burdi, Courtney Hawkins, etc etc etc..just so many failed picks. The James Shields trade throwing in a young prospect (Fernando Tatis Jr) is a case in point on both sides of that equation...not recognizing the decline of an older pitcher or even giving a second thought to including Tatis.

Disagree with AJ on this point, at least to some extent. My opinion is that talent evaluation is far, far more important than player development. On one hand, you cannot develop players like AV, Madrigal, Oscar Colas and maybe, as it may turn out, Colson Montgomery into star players. Investing development time into them is throwing money out. On the other hand, players like Teel, Quero, Vargas and Meidroth are the kind of players that the Sox should be given credit for identifying, acquiring and/or promoting. Their skills can be fine tuned, but they already have what it takes.
