After Teel's third injury, I am thinking that the Sox brass may have moved on from considering him as the starting catcher for the next few seasons. IF that is the case, then a trade for Hunter Goodman, for example might make sense. Then Goodman become the starting catcher with Teel as back-up. It is what it is. Teel's legs have not held up and that cannot be ignored.

Can Fedde make it through the Astros line-up twice? Can he avoid game changing home runs with men on base? Can the White Sox survive the potential curse of three consecutive 666th innings? I fear the bitches broom is lurking in the 'Stros dugout while the wand has lost its magic.

I wonder if Getz could work a trade for Hunter Goodman from the Rockies. That would be a game changer.

I doubt JR had ANY idea about the potential value that Tatis Jr had and certainly neither KW nor Hahn did. I was pleading to not take on Shields without even knowing about Tatis Jr.

KW and Hahn negligently included Tatis Jr in the trade to get Shields...not JR. It was a fireable offense.

Hunter Brown is a Detroit native that, like a lot of other Michiganers,/Tiger fans, grew up hating the White Sox. That may in part explain why he is something like 5-0 career against the White Sox. He looked like a man on a mission in that game...98, 97. 96 mph fastballs with movement on the corners and a sick 85 mph off-speed pitch, also thrown for a strike. He was basically unhittable. It felt like that series that Boston swept us where Payton Tolle just dominated our line-up. The only way to beat a pitcher who is throwing like that is by holding them scoreless and scratching out a run or two. And of course, not giving away runs with errors and bad defense.

Tough starting pitcher dominated our line-up. Guy was insane.

Colson Montgomery's HR power, at least for a SS, is elite. He has carried the Sox in certain stretches this season. As with almost any HR hitter, Colson is going to have a lot of K's so patience is required. The big 3 White Sox power hitters are in a HR drought right now. Very frustrating.

Of course AI was used. LOL.It was fantastic for those of us who remember Comiskey. The color enhanced images of the original Comiskey (based on actual b/w photos) were stunning. I only remember Comiskey after Veeck foolishly painted the brick white. Hard to believe Veeck had the great idea to put vines in Wrigley, but he and his son Mike tried to make Comiskey a clown show.

In certain situations including any time a base is open..yes. Then I would add a few unintentional/intentional walks and just pitch around him. Try not to let this guy beat you with a HR with men on base. Then a few high and tight pitches to back him off the plate. It's going to be tough.

Yea you are right, Teel is likely done this year, but no reason to formally shut him down. A better course would be for everyone, especially the sports media, to back off and give him all the space he needs to physically and mentally pursue his rehab. Teel thinks he can make it back in 5-8 wks instead of 6-12. So what?

Further in line with your observation - Teel's cleats were basically dug into a hole, packed with that soft reddish soil in the home plate area. The turf did not cause the injury, but in my opinion, it sure looked like that may have contributed to it. If I may digress - I recall playing on football fields where wet turf/dirt just packed my spikes and made everything more difficult and more dangerous for planting and cutting. That was then but now, especially in a domed stadium, there is no excuse for a substandard playing surface like that.

IMO, Sox should consider a retractable dome. Something like the ones in Seattle or Toronto. It make all the sense for fans and for the owners. The bad baseball weather days in Chicago seem to increase every year. It has gotten to the point where I will not even think about heading to a game where the forecast is questionable - i.e., hey, raining a bit now but there is a window to maybe get this one in. Then the cold and snow in late March early April, some uncomfortably hot weather or dodging summer rain storms. A retractable dome would be a bigger investment up front, but it would easily pay for itself.

It is nice that Teel wants to recover and return as soon as possible, but I don't expect to see him start games until next year. Three injuries, one after anothe,r would have been hard to fathom, but now it has to make one wonder, how reliable will Kyle be moving forward? My question for him would be what can or will you do differently to try to avoid the kind of injuries you have sustained ? As one of Teel's earliest supporters I am very disappointed with all of this.

Teel may come back sooner than 6-12 weeks?? Would love to see him again this season.

No matter what Chase Meidroth does, it will never be enough for some people. Dude has great bat-to-ball skills and is an excellent 2nd basemen.

Need a catcher that can hit.
