I am guessing here but I would not be surprised by an announcement that Tony has Covid -19 or some other acute malady and therefore, an interim Manager will take over for the rest of the season.. Cairo, Katz or even Ozzie seem to be leading candidates. Too late to make a run, especially without TA and a banged up Robert, Moncada ,Grandal, Kopech, Bummer, et al, but I think it would be a lot of fun to see Ozzie out there.

Kopech has been inconsistent and Gio and Lynn have been pitching like back of rotation starters.. Cueto found the fountain of youth for a season or this rotation would have even been a bigger disaster than it was.

Sign Agreu and trade Vaughn for a legit top of rotation pitcher and a pitching prospect. Trade Hendriks. Retire Tony and fire all of the coaching and training staff. Replace Steve Stone with Ryan McGuffey Make more improvements to the ballpark.

They beat our second and third string players for the mist part. If we were at full strength, they would not have swept us. . You cannot replace TA and Elvis , Moncada with Leury, or Pantera with Engel and expect to win. You cannot start minor league pitchers and expect to win in August. The Sox are playing at half strength.

Hahn built a line-up in large part based on their potential power...the ability to blow teams out with HRs. Then the league decides that there are too many HR so baseballs all of a sudden travel like they are filled with sawdust. OK, a few guys have bad years, but to me it looked like a lot of balls that were hit to the warning track this year would have been HR in past years.

The front office assembled a team with a lot of talented and expensive player contracts., Most have not worked out for one reason or another. Posters here were pining for Grandal before the Sox signed him..others did not want the Sox to bring back James McCann or sign another major league catcher. Then there were those who wanted the Sox to sign Keuchel and Lynn and Joe Kelly . Mistakes were made....a lot of them. Time to move forward while trying to stay positive.

Players are demoralized and so are the fans. This is so hard for me to watch as a long time Sox fan who is not going to be around to see another rebuild.

I think TLR probably doesn't want to come back. Hahn should get fired and the new Manager should get to pick his coaching staff, which should not include McEwing, Boston, Mennechino or the entire training staff.
