  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) He does love to rules-lawyer a lot of arguments. Yeah, I'm assuming Vanderbuilt doesn't drop their standards, similar to ND or NW. ND drops their standards dramatically. Maybe not as much as some programs but ND will let you in if you can help them win football games.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) Without making this a religious debate, I, and I'm sure many others, get annoyed by entertainers praising God publicly. And obviously religious people are now getting annoyed that he flaunted his atheism. That is why one of my favorite sports moments of last year was Stevie Johnson blaming god for him dropping that pass. That was awesome
  3. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) along with the turf. It really is the worst field in sports. They should move to that synthetic mix that GB has or rolly with what NE has. Worst pro turf I have seen but the Fresno St. turf made Soldier Field's turf look majestic.
  4. Jets pretty much have this one wrapped up but Greene shouldn't have scored on that last play. If he goes down at the 2 the game is over. Instead the Pats have a chance (albeit an incredibly small one) to win the game.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 03:40 PM) yeah that was horrible.....goddamnit ....this is a game now...stupid f***ign forte play Not really, it is still a 3 score game.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) Now he doesn't have to have people talk about how he got shut out in the playoffs if his job is on the line after another year or two. Meh, nobody would talk about that anyways. He won a playoff game with a 7-9 team, and as a fan, GM or owner I would rather see my coach actually try to win the game.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) Pete Carroll has stopped playing to win and is just happy that he's not shut out. I will never understand this mentality. You should be trying onside kicks, going for it on 4th whenever feasible, etc. If you lose by 42 instead of 28 as a result who cares.
  8. Not that it would matter but why the f*** would you kick a FG down 28? Awful decision.
  9. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 02:09 PM) Gotta love the "awww" from the crowd when Devin signaled for the fair catch. I like that decision with a 21 point lead. No mistakes. Do not let them back into this game. Just don't turn the ball over and the Bears have this one
  10. Except for that one throw, Cutler has been terrific today. And wow is this Seattle defense just awful. Don't get me wrong, the Bears offense is playing well but Seattle hasn't been able to tackle all year and they are terrible in coverage.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Chris Bosh is such a p****. Jeez. And people said Boozer was soft...Bosh seems to be on another level. I'm actually glad the Bulls didn't get Bosh after hearing what he's said. The guy is worse than LeBron when it comes to public comments. Boozer isn't soft but he is very injury prone and one of the worst defenders in the NBA. However, his rebounding and offensive skills outweigh his defensive limitations against almost all teams.
  12. Wow Jay Cutler just got insanely lucky. That was probably a pick 6 and would have completely changed the game.
  13. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) That's true, but his overall game has regressed since joining UI. While his outside shooting is admittedly better than in HS/prep, he's much worse handling the ball now than 2 years ago -- I don't know how that can happen but it has. He can't get to the hole anymore and even his on-the-ball defense is worse now. I don't know what you can blame other than coaching, as Richardson is regarded as a hard worker... How the f*** could a coach make a player a worse ball handler? That makes absolutely no sense.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) They are also just sophmomores. And Paul is actually starting to play really good basketball the last couple of games. Paul was pretty raw coming in which was obvious last year. His jump shot was inconsistent because his form was inconsistent and he has improved a lot from last year to this year in that area but he has made a giant leap in his ball handling and decision making. As for DJ, I don't think anyone ever thought he was anything other than a 4 year college player (albeit a very very good one).
  15. Awesome, Bo Ryan and the Illinois coaching staff talking to each other about how awful the refs were both ways today in the postgame handshake.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) Tisdale has been playing like he is 6'4 this year at times His rebounding has been a lot better, but unfortunately Mike Davis has just stopped rebounding altogether lately. But he still goes up softly way too often and rushes shots around the rim when he really doesn't need to.
  17. Also, Mike Davis and Mike Tisdale are the most maddening players ever. Both are capable of terrific performances but for the most part they both just disappoint and they each absolutely killed Illinois's momentum today. Tisdale missed a layup when Illinois had a chance to get the lead down to 4 and then he commits a stupid offensive foul on the next possession. And then later in the game Davis misses yet another 2 foot shot because he is a p**** when a make there cuts the lead to 6. Also, only one rebound by Davis today, nice job. I can't wait for him to graduate.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) Refs have ruined this game. Going to call 3-4 touch fouls against Illini now because of all the fouls theyve called on Wisconsin. Id rather just watch 2 teams play, because the refs are just so inconsistent and killing this game (for both teams). They have been truly awful. I would have liked to have actually seen a basketball game today.
  19. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) Jim Jackson said his sources have told him Richmond is transfering. Jim Jackson also said Jereme Richmond wasn't at the game so he is also a dumbass and doesn't watch his own network. Richmond has been cheering the team on the entire game and I've seen him talking to the coaches a lot as well. Would be strange behavior for a guy who is going to transfer right now.
  20. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) I would say that was a fairly obvious travel, I don't really give a f*** because the team is pathetic regardless 0-4 in close games now. Well I guess Maryland ended up close but that was more a game Illinois was in complete control of and then they just missed some free throws to make it close. When they are clicking they are great but I have no confidence in this team in close games. And that was a no doubt travel (plus a nice push off by Battle there as well) he took 3 steps which generally gets called at the college level. But refs are p*****s so I wouldn't expect that to get called either.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 11:01 PM) Watched the play closely 3 times now, and it doesn't look like an obvious travel. Heck, when Cole bobbled that ball under the hoop to tie it, I was expecting the ref to call a travel. He picks it up and takes 3 steps. That is a travel if you aren't playing in the NBA.
  22. Again lol at the refs not calling Battle for that walk, picks it up and takes at least 3 steps before throwing the ball at the rim.
  23. Battle traveled badly on that last play and of course because Tisdale has to come over PSU gets a put back
