  1. Time to get the starters out of there. No need to get a key guy hurt in this one.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) When the Patriots go for it on 4th down in a blowout, this is why people cheered when Brady's knee got blown out (not that we don't deserve the shame b/c we suck to day, but still) It is the 3rd quarter of an NFL game, get some balls. Also, what exactly would you want them to do from the 28 in these conditions? Punt? Kick a FG that has no chance of going in?
  3. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) Yeah, but they're literally too deep in the backcourt. Next year: Abrams, Langford, Paul, Richardson, Head, Bertrand, and Henry/Richmond at the guard spots. Good look cracking that rotation. Bertrand is probably the odd man out but he also seems like the type of kid who just really likes Illinois and might stick it out to see if he can crack the rotation as an upperclassmen. I've always thought he was a boom or bust recruit, great athlete, good slasher, good passer, shot needs work but that is the case with a lot of guys but there just always seemed to be something missing.
  4. LOL, fitting end to the half.
  5. QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 01:03 AM) I've predicted that since the first episode. I really hope it isn't the case.. it's way too obvious of a twist. Don't read the below if you don't want substantial potential spoilers.
  6. Good 2nd quarter for the Bulls. This game has been horrible to watch though.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) Crandall Head being redshirted? No, he has gotten playing time this year but its tough for him because he is playing behind 3 really really good guards, and then a SR wing and Richmond so there just isn't much PT.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) Did A11 ever go around to the dark side? To give them the benefit of the doubt, we dont know HOW they are working this in. Never give Michael Bay the benefit of the doubt. The guy is a hack.
  9. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) Mizzou has only been good for 2 years under Anderson. That's 1-1. How do you know which is the outlier? I'm just taking about Illinois against the press not Illinois against Mizzou. Illinois has also faced Clemson who presses a lot twice and hasn't had issues against them.
  10. So I have a serious question for the MVC fans on the board. What is the reason that the MVC is so bad this year and why it has been on a decline the last few years (UNI last year notwithstanding)? Generally I assume it isn't recruiting in a mid major like it was for the Big 10 when the Big 10 was down so is it coaching turnover and bad hires?
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) After what Illinois did against Gonzaga, then thats a good sign for the Bragging Rights game. That being said, Illinois hasn't been able to beat a press for the last 3-4 years, so the 40 minutes of hell could give them a problem. Either way, it is good to see both Illinois & Mizzou relevant for their matchup. Considering they shredded the press 2 years ago that is simply false. They were awful against Mizzou last year but that is an outlier.
  12. No way the Yanks don't sign Lee now.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:39 PM) I think you can give Illinois a break for being down when using the wrong ball. Thats just messed up. I wasn't thrilled with the performance tonight but I don't think people realize how much that would mess with a players rhythm. The women's ball is pretty significantly smaller and Illinois was never able to get in a rhythm in the first half. They then went out and scored 50 in the 2nd half playing with the proper ball.
  14. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) ????? No one noticed? Illinois players were complaining about the ball but for some reason the refs didn't listen. Illinois was down 15-4 before the ball switch. Oakland probably wishes they would have never switched the ball. From the Illinois rivals board: McCamey told the official after his first shot that there was something wrong with the ball. The ref told him to keep playing, until Richmond and Tisdale, as well as 3 Oakland guys said something. Amazing. That is simply inexcusable by the refs and not surprisingly Sanzere was involved. That guy is an absolute joke of a ref.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) Man, Kevin Love is a f***ing beast. And he's, like, white. That's not a racial remark. So please don't suspend me. I'm just not used to this. I'm glad a white dude is making his mark. 20.1 PPG/15.3 RPG in just 34 minutes? Wow. The scouts certainly dropped the ball on this guy. He was a top 5 pick in a loaded draft and was a top 10 player in the greatest HS class of all time. What scouts dropped the ball on him?
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) They do this every year. Ranked top 5 preseason, lose some games out of conference, win the Big Ten, make the Final Four, repeat. Yep, but the one thing that would have me somewhat concerned if I was an MSU fan is that this team is made up of basically all JRs and SRs. They shouldn't be struggling like this right now.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) I think I know what he whispered, but I don't want to give it away. It might be something thats in the comic. It wasn't in the comic. As I posted above, they never went to the CDC in the comic and Jenner doesn't exist in the comic. That episode had nothing to do with the comic.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) (Walking Dead) So what did the doctor whisper in to the guy's ear at the end? Was it something that was in the comic? None of that stuff at the CDC was in the comic. For the most part the series has followed the plot of the comics closely but the last couple of episodes have basically been original material.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) for a 5 min stretch where brandon paul threw up some luck threes. Wide open 3s aren't lucky and in that stretch Paul and DJ both attacked the basket and either got layups or drew fouls.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) Best way to beat Illinois: get McCamey out of the game. They are a very, very average team without him running the show. Tough to do when he is always guarding the worst player on the other team and Illinois did better with him on the bench in the first half.
  21. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 06:48 PM) Illinois is just dirty from downtown right now. 30 points off of 3's. Gonzaga has apparently decided not to guard us at the 3 pt line. Also, if Tisdale was mobile at all he would be an NBA all star in the making. He might be the best shooter in college basketball regardless of size.
  22. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 03:22 AM) I think it was actually his ankle that got f'd up. His foot got contorted in an awful way. That said, the 3rd down spot was in Illinois' favor. I think you are right about the injury and shockingly there were some reports that he was walking around in the locker room after the game. The third down spot was in Illinois favor but even if you give Fresno a little bit extra on 3rd they still didn't pick up that 4th down. That back barely crossed the line of scrimmage.
  23. The 4th down spot was bad enough that the Sportcenter anchor made fun of the officials for screwing it up.
  24. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 01:23 AM) Illini getting f***ed big-time on this Fresno drive: s***ty personal foul call, s***ty false start, s***ty, s***ty, s***ty spot. Fresno didn't come within a half yard of picking up that first down. Also, no major college team should ever play a game at Fresno St. That field is a f***ing joke. It makes the turf at Soldier Field look majestic and Ian Thomas almost certainly blew out his knee in large part because of that piece of s*** turf.
  25. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 11:15 PM) Wow Kansas gets bailed out by the refs. UCLA hit a 3 to tie it with less than 10 seconds. On Kansas' possession there was a loose ball and they called a foul that wasn't even a shooting foul on UCLA with less than a second to go. That's terrible. That was freaking awful. And seriously, does any team other then Kansas, UNC, Duke or Kentucky get that call? I don't think so.
