  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) TCU just won the Rose Bowl, I never want to hear any of you ever say that small school can't hang with the big schools ever again. That has never been my argument, I don't think you deserve a title shot playing the schedules Boise and TCU have played and I don't think Boise has the talent to play with the big boys over the course of a season. TCU might be a different story because they play in a much stronger conference than Boise, have more depth and are much more athletic top to bottom.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Tolzien played a really bad game, as he showed no field vision and didn't handle the clock well at all. He can't win you games, he is accurate and is fine when Wisconsin is running all over the field but if you need him to make plays you are in trouble.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) Happy for the Horned Frogs...taking down the team that was probably playing the best ball towards the end of the season. Hard to say though what would have happened a month ago, because of these ridiculous layoffs between the end of the regular season and the bowl games. I think Wisconsin is very good and this is not intended to take away from TCU's win but people tend to overrate how well Wisconsin was playing at the end of the year. They scored a bunch of points against Michigan, NW, and Indiana who have 3 of the worst defenses in the country.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) where are the defenses, big 10? jeesh ....michigan, msu and NW couldn't stop a pee wee team Michigan and NW couldn't stop anyone all year. Illinois could have beaten NW without throwing a single pass.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 06:46 PM) Big 12 bowl game overshadowed again by bad judgement call by refs. I hate refs so much
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 12:14 AM) Defensively you mean? They left a lot of wide open threes and Illinois just burried them. Coming into tonight Iowa was ranked very high on 3pt % defense but clearly tonight they were awful. I think maybe 2 of those threes that Illinois hit were contested tonight and Cole hit two where there was literally no one within 10 feet of him.
  7. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) Illinois got on a lucky hot streak from three, or else the game wouldn't be close -- Iowa would have blown them away. Illinois is the most overrated team I have seen this year. They simply are not good. Wisconsin, one of the most underrated teams out there, should rip them apart. Wide open 3s aren't lucky and Illinois has done that several times this year. Also, more like if Illinois doesn't have a few stupid turnovers and defensive lapses when they pushed the lead to 19 they blow Iowa away. Iowa never had a chance to win this game, not sure how Iowa could have blown them away.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) How this Illinois-Iowa game is this close is beyond me. Stupid turnovers by Illinois and DMac with the matador defense.
  9. So can someone explain to me why Maryland fired Friedgen? That program was awful before he got there and he had a lot of success with only a couple of losing seasons. Granted he had an awful year last year but then he wins 9 games with a very young team this year. Does Maryland really think they can do better?
  10. Bears Oline playing very well today. Both defenses look like crap.
  11. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) I wish I could have screencapped it. Looks like someone is having some fun tonight.
  12. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 22, 2010 -> 11:42 PM) I don't think so, pretty sure every site had the same mistake up for some reason. ESPN just changed theirs. ESPN was just saying 39-0 at halftime for me up until the last minute when it changed to the presumably correct score.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 22, 2010 -> 11:35 PM) IMO he'll have, and should get, up through this next recruiting class (when DJ/Paul become seniors). The team is led be 2 incredibly soft big guys and a nobody PG he's made into a legit 1st round pick. I think he's done well with what he's got. What he's got wasn't enough, but he's slowly building the talent pool. The absolute longest he should get is next season and really even though I've never been on the fire Weber bandwagon (except after the 08 class was a disaster and before the 09 guys committed) if this team isn't a top 25 team at the end of the season I would fire him in a second.
  14. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 22, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) Granted he didn't hit the guy very hard and seemed to pull up at the end but don't you have to at least make an attempt to block the shot or it's intentional? If everyone disagrees then I suppose I'm wrong but I thought you had to make an attempt at the ball which he clearly did not. If you call that intentional then there are an incredible amount of intentional fouls each game, especially at the end of close games where teams are actually intentionally fouling. That call also showed no understanding of the game whatsoever but it is what I have come to expect out of college basketball officials who still get nearly every single block/charge call wrong and feel like they are part of the game. Awful, stupid play by Mike Tisdale but John Higgins can go f*** himself. Weber should have gone Bobby Knight and thrown a chair in his direction.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) ILL SHOULD be a top 15 team, I honestly think they have top 10 talent, and I'm not sure why they havent put it together. They really have only played one bad game all year. They lost a tough game on a neutral court to a good Texas team, would have beaten Maryland by double figures if they made FTs down the stretch and had won every other game this year by double figures. Which makes Saturday's game even more bizarre.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) I agree, but it still needs to be noted. UIC isn't supposed to beat a top 15 caliber team even on a bad night. I think Illinois could very well be a top 15 team this year, but I don't think they would be most years. Outside of Duke and a couple of other teams I don't think anyone is all that good.
  17. I got to see Little Fockers for free, for the love of god, do not see that movie.
  18. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) Best part is Bears fans still not giving credit to Lubbie. They don't deserve him. The fact that this Bears team made the playoffs with that offensive line is incredible.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) Your 2010 NFC North champion Chicago Bears! Way too much time left
  20. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Cutler doing Cutler things. I like it. That was a great throw and just awful play from Minny.
  21. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) By having a WR drop a catchable pass? And having Webb play his usual awful football and miss blocks?
  22. How do you give Jackson a chance to return that? Kick that out of bounds, even if it only goes like 20 yards.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) How has Tisdale not added one pound of muscle in 4 years of college? He has added over 50 pounds. He was freakishly thin as a freshman and while he still isn't strong his rebounding has actually improved dramatically. No idea why he is fading away so much on shots, he is fading away more this year then he did when he was 30 pounds lighter.
