  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) Just say no to Alford. His Big 10 record is worse than Mikey D. He is brutal. Just because he's having one good year and went to IU, isn't a reason to hire him. His record is pretty awful. Counting this year he will have 3 NCAA tourney appearances in 7 years and only 2 winning records in the Big 10. That and coddling a rapist make him less than an ideal candidate.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) hahaha, right. Kind of like all those those sanctions from Clarett's acusations. I didn't say you will get sanctions, but there clearly was lack of institutional control and O'Brien did pay players. OSU deserves sanctions but they probably won't get anything.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Sanctions??? For your former head coach paying players
  4. QUOTE(HoosierSox @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) Im going to agree with greasy that Alford would not be the best choice. Majerus, Calipari, Few, or Pearl are just a few of the many coaches out there who are better choices than Alford. The only reason he gets mentioned is because he is one of the greatest players in IU bball history. Calipari and Pearl are both huge scumbags, not sure that is exactly what IU will be looking for in a coach.
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) I don't like the fact that they think they can just turn it on against a team like NW when they feel like it. That's not a good characteristic to have. They need to find their defensive intensity that they had early in the year. I don't know what happened, but they've lost their edge on defense. And it isn't just playing better teams because for the minutes where the intensity is there they still are shutting people down. Not sure what Bruce is going to have to do, but this team isn't good enough to make a run in the tourney without playing lockdown D for 40 minutes. They start doing that again and they have a chance to make a deep run.
  6. Ted Ligety wins the Gold for the U.S. in the Combined Event of Alpine Skiing.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) U.S. down one going to the final end but they will have the last rock. Tied it up in the 10th at 5 so they are going to an extra end now. U.S. women lose and fall to 0-3. That basically ends any realistic chance of making the medal round.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) U.S. steals one in the 7th, 4-3 now U.S. down one going to the final end but they will have the last rock. Tied it up in the 10th at 5 so they are going to an extra end now.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 05:34 PM) 3-3 through 6 ends U.S. steals one in the 7th, 4-3 now
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) 2-2 after 3 ends 3-3 through 6 ends
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) Still 2-0 after the second end 2-2 after 3 ends
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) U.S. up 2-0 after the first end Still 2-0 after the second end

  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) USA women's hockey just went down 3-1 to Finland midway through the second period. 3-2 game now with a minute to go in the second period.
  16. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 02:42 AM) Ditto Only got 1 in the 3rd end. Down 6-1 now and thats it for me tonight
  17. U.S. sucking big time so far, lost another point in that end. Down 6-0 now. A couple more ends like that and I'm going to sleep.
  18. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Late night curling, hell yeah The U.S. put themselves in a huge hole after the first end. Interested to see if they can come back.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) And if it doesn't it stays up 2 more weeks. If not I'll put up a sig of Illinois?? And ya, I'm ballsy...I got faith in my Hawks. Iowa fans need to enjoy this season because it is going to be a while before they have a Big 10 title contender
  20. U.S. vs. Canada curling match is on USA now
  21. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) Why dont they show it one night in primetime on nbc people would watch just to see wtf it was. It really isn't something that you can watch edited or at least I wouldn't want to. The fun in watching curling is mostly to watch the strategy unfold. You edit for time and you won't really get that. And NBC would be nuts to show Curling in primetime because their ratings would take a big hit. They show curling on tape delay on USA at times. The U.S. vs. Finland match from today was shown on tape delay at 4 on USA. Just have to check the TV listings. You can catch the U.S. women vs. Japan on Tape Delay at 4 PM CT on CNBC if you want to check out a match.
  22. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) Defensive Legend = One who is remembered 50 years down the line for his defensive prowess I would say that Marcus qualifies without question. He is an astonishing, absolutely remarkable defender. Marcus Camby won't be remembered 50 years from now for his defense. In order to do that you have to be a part of great teams or be the best defensive player at your position during your career. Camby fits neither of those criteria and his injury problems won't help his case. Legendary defensive players are guys like Bill Russell, Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen not Marcus Camby.
  23. U.S. vs. Canada Women's curling match is on live at 2 A.M. central time for those who will be up in 4 hours.
  24. Gold and silver in the halfpipe almost swept it if Clark wouldn't have fallen.
  25. U.S. women currently top 3 of the halfpipe final. Hopefully they are able to hold on for the sweep.
