  1. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Miller and Raal are using new skis. Seems like a pretty risky move to make in the Olympic games.
  2. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) YES DOWNHILL The alpine skiing events are so fun to watch. I still find it amazing that they are able to keep their balance at such high speeds.
  3. All 4 American competitors are in the snowboarding halfpipe final.
  4. Section 1. White Room - Cream vs. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan vs. Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix vs. When the Levee Breaks- Led Zeppelin Section 2. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen vs. Baba O'Reilly - The Who Pinball Wizard - The Who vs. Street Fighting Man - The Rolling Stones A Day in the Life - The Beatles vs. Dream On - Aerosmith
  5. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) Bode and Ohno time! Ohno got through his first heat with ease.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Don't they lose Dials, Sullinger, Foster, and Sylvester? Ohio St. will be good next year, but there's other teams out there that potentially will have better talent. Yeah, all of the above are seniors. They basically only return Lewis and Butler who are both good players but that really isn't a whole lot.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Made a nice run with Dials out, now he's back and got 4 quick points....damn...oh well. Bruce pulled Chet for some reason. Really dumb move on his part, Rich McBride sucks today and has no business being in the game.
  8. I'm sure most people know this already but Chad Hedrick one America's 1st medal of the Olympics by winning the Men's 5000M in Long Track Speed Skating. He wins his best event and that probably takes some of the pressure off of him in the other 4 events he is skating.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) Iowa is doing one hell of a job trying to blow this game. Big FTs coming up for Killingsworth
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) That's insane... Before the Iowa game, I thought they were playing their best basketball of the decade. They got blown out, and haven't been the same since. Injuries have had a lot to do with that
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Man, just sitting here watching Indiana, can't help but feel like this team is on the verge of just giving up on the whole bloody season. They really need a spark somewhere. They really don't look like the same team from earlier this year. No intensity at all on defense, no ball movement on offense, and Killingsworth isn't playing with any life.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) If he is a senior in HS, he has to wait another year for the NBA. He is already one year removed from high school as he was attending a prep school this year so he can go to the NBA if he wants.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) I hate the tape delay nonsense to be honest, but I'll do my best to watch as much as I can without hearing the spoiler results. Speaking of which if you are going to put a spoiler on this thread please give people a warning out of common courtesy.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) I don't pay much attention to the Olympics and even when I do, it's mostly the Summer games. I figured we just dominated the Winter games, too, since we dominate the Summer ones. Who's the all-time medal leader for the Winter games, then? Germany has the most medals if you combine the medal totals of West Germany, East Germany, and Germany. The most gold medals goes to Russia/USSR/Unified Team. The third most medals is Norway and the U.S. is fourth in medals all time at the winter olympics.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) Yeah without researching it, I think the last time we didn't win the medal count in the summer games was 1980 when we boycotted. Actually in 1992 we lost to the Unified Team but they were made up of like 12 countries and in 1988 we finished 3rd behind the USSR and East Germany.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) So, is it the Summer Olympics that they always win? Yes, we have 2219 medals all time in the Summer Olympics and the next closest is Russia/USSR/Unified Team with a combined 1381 medals.
  17. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) yeah didnt they beat their personal best record in 2002, and I think even with that U.S. was 3rd or 4th in the medal count. Who are some of the favorites to look for, besides the usual hype ie Bode Miller, Apollo Ohno, Sasha Cohen ect? There are a lot of medal contenders for America as some people think we will break our 2002 record this year. NBC has a rundown on all the events here: NBC Olympics and who America's medal hopefuls are. Just click on either athletes or events to find out more.
  18. Go U.S. I absolutely love the Olympics. Easily one of my favorite sporting events. Opening Ceremony today and then the events kick off tomorrow. Can't wait.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) Haven't they won about 8 straight. Ron Artest has really given them some momentum, and they've got Bonzi Wells to come back. I think they'll end up making the playoffs when it's all said and done. They have won 3 in a row and 4 out of their last 5 but they are only 5-5 in their last 10 games.
  20. Section 1. No Time - Guess Who vs. White Room - Cream While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles vs. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynard vs. Strawberry Field Forever - The Beatles Ticket to Ride - The Beatles vs. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy vs. Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones A Day in the Life - The Beatles vs. All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Section 2. Surrender - Cheap Trick vs. When the Levee Breaks- Led Zeppelin Dream On - Aerosmith vs. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen Street Fighting Man - The Rolling Stones vs. Thunderstruck - AC/DC Stay With Me - The Faces vs. Pinball Wizard - The Who Crazy Train - Ozzy Osborne vs. Baba O'Reilly - The Who
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Pargo used to be a funny little end of the bench guy. Now he plays and I hate him. Timo syndrome
  22. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Fair enough, but he was an integral part of them getting the 3rd best record in the East. It wasn't a 7-8 seed one-and-done. You just can't blame him for this year. It was almost expected when you consider there is no real post presence. I'm not blaming him for anything.
