  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Michigan also had players on the field (both teams did). I think this game did show that they need to change the replay system and allow coaches to be able to challenge. It was crap that Michigan had to lose two timeouts just to get two calls over-turned (however, that was a very good job by Lloyd Carr in calling those TO's). Aside from that I wasn't watching the game too closley, so I can't comment on the officiating (other than the way they handled replays). Michigan did have guys on the field, but they were on the field after the entire Nebraska team stormed the field. And if anything those are offsetting penalties. That was easily the worst officiated game I have ever seen in any sport. Those officials consistently f***ed up the entire night and Michigan got screwed horribly.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) Wow, great Alamo Bowl. Michigan loses at the end and it almost looked like Michigan was going to come up with a miracle of a play to win the game. 3/4ths of Nebraska stopped thinking the game was over and Michigan kept lattering and moving the ball and finally broke things open and both teams had most of there benches on the field as they were doing it. Lucky for Nebraska two guys at the back of the play continued to play it out and made the tackle. Had they not done that, it would have been something talked about for years and years to come. First off that TE for Michigan was a moron because he should have given the ball to Breaston. The officiating in that game was absolutely terrible. Quite possibly the worst officiating in any sporting event ever in which there was not outright cheating. Twice Michigan has to burn timeouts because the replay officials are inept. A terrible missed pass interference call on the goal line. And then apparently Nebraska is allowed to have 85 guys play defense. How there wasn't a flag on that last play is beyond me. Everyone of those officials deserves to lose their jobs over that game.
  3. Interesting Big 10 score. Indiana 51 Butler 46 6:42 left Butler has already played Michigan and Ohio St. tough this season.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) On the outside, while they might be winning, they still havent done s***. Good luck with Jeter/ARod/Sheff/Giambi/RJ/Etc...
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) What have they done lately? 11 straight postseason berths. 6 WS appearances in 11 years including 4 titles. 2003 they were in the WS, 2004 they were a couple of outs from making the WS, they won 95 games this year. 9 times in the last 11 years they have won 90 plus games. 3 times in the last 4 years they have won 100+ games.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Great comeback by Wake to get back within 2. A couple of really dumb plays by DePaul down the stretch allowing them to stay in it. DePaul's going to win. Nice win for them although Wake is not a great basketball team.
  7. Great comeback by Wake to get back within 2. A couple of really dumb plays by DePaul down the stretch allowing them to stay in it.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) YAYAYA Gordon+Cole+Gordon in 1 class??? WOW Gordon is good, but I'm not sure he is good enough to add twice
  9. Bill Cole has committed to the Illini 4* on Scout (only have their top 50 up) 4* and #85 on Rivals
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) Luther at the Illini game in Portland Saturday night....(Rockets had a game at the Blazers Sunday). Great to see him there (was on camera during the game a couple times too) probably my all time favorite college hoops player. Plus, I like the hat.

I know that a lot of schools have finals this coming week so I wanted to wish everyone who has those good luck. But my real reason for making this post is that I just finished writing my 4th 10+ page paper this week and I only have one final so I'm in a pretty damn good mood right now. Who wants to go get drunk?
  12. What a great catch by Berrian. Bears down 12 now after Gould misses the extra point.
  13. Good tackling by the Bears so far today.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Eh they can screw off if that's the case. You wouldn't trade Deng for Artest?
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Danny, the Bostonian whom appeared to be wearing some sort of lip gloss on the followup show, dated Melinda. They're engaged
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) Um, Indiana fans and Illinois fans should all be able to agree on one thing. Missouri really sucks. Absolutely terrible. If we lose to them in the Bragging Rights game next week I think I'll cry.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) ILLINI! Awesome awesome win. 10-0 Dominating performance at both ends tonight. Oregon never had a chance.
  18. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Illinois kicking Oregon's ass 40-22!! Yeah, to this point looks like there was no reason to be concerned at all with this one. Oregon is struggling to get any good shots off and we are dominating inside.
  19. Illini up 34-16 with 3:57 to go in the first half. Defense has been great and Dee has looked awesome tonight.
  20. Adam Morrison just banked in a three to put Gonzaga up by 2 with 2.5 seconds left. What a lucky shot.
  21. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) doesn't everyone just love J.J. Redick? It would help if Texas knew how to play defense. Plus, typical of Duke games, the refs aren't allowing them to play physical at all against Redick yet, Duke grabs and holds constantly without fouls being called.
  22. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) Nice little saturday... Illinois/Oregon I'm a little worried about this game tomorrow. Illinois is without a doubt much better than Oregon, but the game being Portland just two days after the Georgetown game is concerning. The tough travel schedule along with the fact they have been playing a lot of games lately could lead to some fatigue.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Btw, i believe rodman> pippen defensively that is not even including their rebounding skills. I know someone will bring up pippens steals but believe it or not steals and blocks look good in the box score but they are only about aquarter of the game defensively imo. Thats what made those Bulls teams so great. Obviously they had the greatest player ever in Jordan who could take over a game like very few others. He was a dominant scorer, and then Pippen was a pretty good offensive player as was Kukoc. And then of course you had great role players who played their role to perfection. However, the best part about those teams were their defense. They had three of the best defenders of that generation in Rodman, Jordan, and Pippen. I would rate Pippen the best of the three because he had the most versatility. I still remember him guarding both Kemp and Payton in the 96 Finals. Rodman was one of the best low post defenders of all time. Which is unbelievable considering he wasn't exactly the tallest or strongest of players. But his use of positioning is unmatched. And then you have Jordan who is probably one of the best on the ball defenders of all time when he wanted to be.
  24. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) I agree with a lot of your sentiments. The one thing i will say is that while Smith's average is propping his average, he hasn't gotten many minutes thus far. Given minutes, he could become a good scoring option and open up the court for everyone else. You can only base a scoring average off of how many minutes you play. The guy can shoot the ball, and has all year. I think Randle will eventually become our '3rd' scoring option, but only time will tell. If he has a respectable outside and inside game (shoots well) he'll be tough to stop. When Jamar plays he scores, it is really that simple. And now that his defense is improving he will probably see a lot more minutes.
