April 8 - Rodon v. Snell 1:10 CT (mlbTV free game of day)
And with those guys we are always going to have to worry about Tommy John #2 happening.

Opening Day 2019
The Orioles are going to lose a ton of games. Holy crap is that roster bleak.

Fernando Tatis Jr. trade burns more than the loss in the Machado sweeps
Wasn't saying he was hurt. The fact he pitched so many innings for the Sox demonstrates otherwise actually. He had already declined though and the Sox gave up value for him anyways.

Fernando Tatis Jr. trade burns more than the loss in the Machado sweeps
There were tons of warnings signs with Shields. The prior year in San Diego while his K rate still looked good his walk rate went way up and he was giving up a ton of HR despite pitching in a very favorable pitchers park. Then the next year his walk rate with them remained high and his K rate was plummeting. His velocity was also declining.

The lack of discussion demonstrates how laughably bad this tournament has been. Only a couple of watchable games so far. Also, the Porter family has incredible genes when it comes to basketball talent but they unfortunately clearly also have bad genes when it comes to durability based on the sisters’ constant knee injuries, Michael’s back and now Jontay’s knees.

2018-9 MLB off season free agency thread
I stand corrected. I was quickly looking at his main page on Fangraphs and didn't appear to be a dip on his four seamer or cutter but there was a drop on the sinker which is obviously his most important pitch which I didn't take a close look at.

He really hasn't had a velocity decline. There are a lot of concerning things about Keuchel but that isn't one of them.

Who is available in 2020? Looking ahead to the future
Now we hope that basically every good prospect in the system hits because that is what it will take for the Sox to be good again. Good luck when our top two pitching prospects have already undergone Tommy John surgery and the only position player prospect who really excelled last year among the top guys was Jimenez.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Hahahahahaahahahahahaha. Yeah, that's going to happen.

Luis Basabe Broken Hand
Just waiting for the Dylan Cease injury news to come out so we can complete an absolutely dreadful last 6-7 months for the franchise.

That mock is also crap and is missing some obvious players. I love Ayo and he will be NBA player but I don't think it will be this year. I haven't seen him mocked in the first by anyone else. That mock is missing at least the following guys altogether: Simi Shittu Charles Bassey Bruno Fernando Moses Brown Jalen Smith Naz Reid I think the best he can hope for is one team really liking him and telling him they will take him in the first but that is also incredibly risky.

What experts? Most boards don't have him anywhere near the first round.

Realmuto to the Phillies - Sanchez/Alfaro+ to Marlins
I feel like the Marlins have done a horrific job with their firesale. Realmuto (Best catcher in baseball) for Sanchez (stud prospect but has never even thrown 100 innings in a season), Alfaro (decent young catcher who will be coming up on FA by the time the Marlins have any chance of competing) and a fringe prospect. Yelich (NL MVP) for Isan Diaz, Monte Harrison, Jordan Yamamoto and Lewis Brinson. The big pieces here were Brinson and Harrison and Harrison was a disaster in the minors last year and based on returns to date I'd be pretty surprised if Brinson is ever a good hitter. Ozuna for Alcantara (probably a back of rotation starter), Magneuris Sierra (I'm very comfortable saying he will never be a good hitter), Zac Gallen (maybe getting a back of rotation starter), and Daniel Castano (basically a non-prospect) Giancarlo Stanton for Starlin Castro, Jorge Guzman, and Jose Devers That is two MVP caliber players (albeit one making crazy money), a good cost controlled outfielder and the best catcher in baseball and it is very possible they wind up with just a couple fringe outfielders and back of rotation starters in return. Yikes.

I'm going to laugh my ass off if they don't get a top 3 pick come June.

Realmuto to the Phillies - Sanchez/Alfaro+ to Marlins
Yeah, this is their last chance to add major talent to their organization from their fire sale (especially since their returns from the Yelich, Stanton and Ozuna trades look awful so far). They can't reduce his value by adding those contracts when their payroll is already going to be incredibly low.

Debatable which of those two is better actually and Portis would have been cheaper next year on a new deal than Porter will be at $26m plus the next two years. Parker is irrelevant, he sucks and would have been gone.

Kipper is capable of playing better than he has so far this year but neither of those guys are special athletes and Damonte isn't skilled at all so I'm not surprised he hasn't produced more.

The one positive Jim Boylen brings to the table is he will prevent the hot streak.

Where he wants to play. Most teams aren't going to give up the assets required to get him without feeling good about their chances of signing him to an extension. And he sure as hell isn't signing up to play for Jim fucking Boylen and this trash front office.

4 on track for '19 HOF
Mussina is on the bubble. Looks like he is going to either get in or miss by a handful of votes if the unknown ballots treat him similarly to how they did last year.

Not just pass interference either but a clear as day personal foul too. The refs chose to ignore both. It’s absolutely absurd.

Pathetic by the refs. Changed the team playing for the Super Bowl.

Well at least his development won’t be stunted by playing for Boylen for the rest of this year. And we can all hope Boylen is canned in the offseason.
