  1. I don’t think Villar is as good as Garcia and Harrison when it comes to the important aspects: grit and TWTW
  2. Justin Upton is absolutely washed. He has been horrendous, I don’t know why people are even bringing that up.
  3. I‘ll believe it when I see it, but if Hahn manages to get Bellinger for Kimbrel(even if it means eating his entire salary), I will found the church of Rick Hahn first thing tomorrow.
  4. Had a look at b-ref, the Sox are spending $50+mil on relievers this year. This is just baffling.
  5. Yeah, it‘s just the tech staff running checks.
  6. There are dozens of these guys who are available for a minor league deal every year. And Danny Mendick and Romy are completely fine as bench players, if you get a guy that can and should reasonably start 140 games. It is literally the worst strategy to spend money on bench players when you don’t even have enough every day players-
  7. At the trading deadline last year we had no starting caliber RF, instead we got a reliever. This offseason we have no starting caliber players at 2B and RF, we sign two relievers. If that trend continues, we will sign dozens of relievers in a couple of years.
  8. They are spending $10mil/yr to be lucky to squeeze 1 WAR out of those deals. I agree that there were not that many 2B available, but I‘d argue the Sox would have been better off letting Garcia go and not signing Harrison. Play Romy if thaese are the alternatives and allocate the resources elsewhere and I‘d argue the Sox would be better off in the grand scheme of things. Romy and Mendick give you replacement level play for basically free.
  9. This is such a weird line of argument, you should strive to get solid production from every spot in the lineup. They are paying $10mil/yr combined for Leury and Harrison which doesn’t make any sense.
  10. Another free agent that got better when he signed with the Sox was McCann, but I am sure that doesn’t count either because reasons
  11. Oh yeah an aging slugger like *checks notes* 27 year old Joey Gallo.
  12. I am angry though! Fire a groundskeeper then, someone needs to get fired!!!!
  13. Having Cesar play ss over a natural shortstop like leury is peak TLR. He has been doing weird stuff like that for as long as i remember
  14. This won’t even rank in the top 100 for posts that have aged poorly in this thread. ?
  15. The Padres are in a pretty bad tailspin and have fallen out of the wildcard spots, give caulfield a break.
  16. Me, an idiot: The Sox have played 80% of the season with replacement guys from the minor league system. You, an intellectual: sOx HaVe No DePtH
  17. I for one am glad that the Sox have turned this into a laugher and haven’t allowed Cleveland to make up 10 games in the standings just tonight.
  18. People still scoreboard watching and losing their shit will never be not funny to me
  19. One of those “insiders“ also as an irrational pretty creepy hatred for all things Madrigal.
  20. This bumslayer thing has always been a dumb narrative. This isn‘t college football where Alabama beats some directional school by 50. Baseball is a game with a huge amount of variance. The Royals are not a good offensive team, but they are less than one run worse the Red Sox per game.
  21. Hoe about some lottery numbers?
  22. By the way Wittgren reacted, I thoughr that was gone
  23. Pretty sure it‘s in Crochet‘s contract that he has to pitch the 10th
