I'll go with a LH OF signing (Gallo)

I'd much rather have Degrom at his contract then Verlander's.

DFAing Grandal makes absolutely 0 sense at this point. Give him at least 2 months to see if he can regain his pre-2022 form. Cutting him for 18 million would be asinine. Now if you can have a team pickup some of the salary, that's a different story.

Is Now the Time to Trade Gio?
I am leaning towards if you can get a serious piece, dealing him makes sense. He was tragic his first two years, then figured it out with a pitching motion we all saw as volatile, potential drop off injury and likely not sustainable. He isn't signing back next year so your only hope is a QO, but if he has another bad year, we wouldn't wanna offer that. If you can solve another issue with him with a cheaper, more controlled player, it makes sense. Would I trade him for prospects? No. He's a re-tool trade guy for me.

I feel strangely good about this week

Mike Clevinger to Sox per Rosenthal
If we pickup his option and he declines, can we still offer him a QO?

I would love a Thomas acquisition. Any idea if we still have interest? Didn’t we have interest pre draft

Mike Clevinger to Sox per Rosenthal
Same

Bryan Reynolds’s requests trade
Correct. The 4 player trades were Sale and Quintana

These were their MLB pipeline rankings

Bryan Reynolds’s requests trade
At the time of trade, Giolito was a top 10 (but would drop with the new update), and Lopez was a top 50 (late 40s). Dunning was the fringe 100-150 guy that finally made the list a a year later

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
I’d just off a bridge if the Sox even thought about that trade

Bryan Reynolds’s requests trade
If we had another promising year in 2022 I’d be all for dumping the farm for him… but given our horrendous year and continued terrible health, idk if trading 3 or 4 of our top 10 prospects makes sense

Is Now the Time to Trade Gio?
It's now confirmed you would still get a great piece back for Giolito since Boyd signed for the same contract. Boyd is a DFA pitcher lol. He's like fancy Velasquez.

It's honestly an interesting idea/proposal

a 1/18 million is one of the worst contracts in baseball? You say a lot of silly things. Yes, he was atrocious last year... but it's only a 1/18... it isn't going to hamstring long term franchises like other deals.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
That’s because he’s not very valuable to anyone.. including us

Wonder what his cost would be. Big contract.

These last two SP deals make me love the Clevinger deal even more

Would you expect it being our major leaguer(s) or prospect(s) traded?

I'd absolutely do that Lowe trade. Duvall would be interesting since we solved 2B permanently. I can live with Hendriks IF we spent his money... It doesn't appear we have here so maybe we have another 8 or so to spend?
-
Mike Clevinger to Sox per Rosenthal
Wow... This makes even more excited that we got Clevinger for 12 when s%*# Boyd got 10..
-
Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Hendriks absolutely frees up a lot of money. I'm for dealing him assuming we can get a serious piece back. If we can't, then I'd prefer dumping Graveman. You could find a taker for his salary

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
I'd certainly hope you could do much better than Outman in a Hendriks trade. An Outman for Graveman seems much closer in value per analyzers.
