I have to say, I'm optimistic about this year's draft choices. Some exciting talent that may actually be something.

Hansen was effectively wild and had nearly as many balls as strikes. I'm planning on talking to him and his pitching coach soon, I have a feeling they are really taking it slow with his mechanics before promoting him.

The guy they put in for him - Brandon Magallones - pitched a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts and no walks. 1.09 ERA. Came in with a 12 K/9 and 1.15 BB/9.

Just scrolling through the box scores and the guy who blew the lead for Hansen was Aaron... wait for it... Bummer. What a fitting name for a middle reliever.

Jameson Fisher gets forgotten a bit since Call has been mashing at Kanny but he's still chugging along, 3-6 last night with a double and 2 stolen bases. Hitting .338/.430/.466.

Yeah it has been a bit strange but maybe they have a defensive instructor in GF that they like to work with Fisher first.

That could make some sense because it seems that his bat has nothing left to prove in GF anymore, maybe someone blocking him in Kanny is another reason, but I'd like to see him get some time in Kanny before the year is up.

Quintero looked like maybe a sleeper last year, but he got hurt and didn't start his 2016 until the last few weeks.

The reason Fisher, and even Schnurbusch, aren't going up yet is there's nowhere to play them. The Kanny outfield already has Call, Adolfo and Rodriguez (all legit prospects), plus Tyler Sullivan (who is fringy but worth playing). Too much of a crowd. One of them needs to move up to make room. Sullivan won't get in a prospect's way, but those other three aren't going to get benched for another prospect.

The only thing I can think of is we already have a full OF in Kannapolis (Call, Adolfo, Rodriguez) and Jameson needs to play everyday in the field to work on his defense.
