Trump's personal lawyer hasn't sought security clearance and may have trouble attaining one because he has a history of alcohol abuse and allegedly has been drinking again.

I don't really understand it either, since it seems reeeeally at odds with McConnell's nature. He's brilliant, and typically pragmatic as hell. Often 10 steps ahead of everyone else. Maybe there's some secret genius going on here in passing a bill that more than 80% of Americans are against, but I can't see it.

 

I really just don't see what he's seeing, unless - for once - he's blinded by ego and just desperately wants to trash Obamacare on principle.

Just realized the answer to my own question. McConnell wants healthcare to pass FAST while Trump is in office, do they can get their tax breaks and slash medicaid /PP then blame it on Trump when he's impeached. That way they minimize the amount of political capital they lose.

 

THAT'S the McConnell I know and hate. Got it.
