May 22, 20178 yr Tonight's action: http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20170522 AA Birmingham (Lowry) vs Tennessee (TBD) A+ Winston-Salem (Thompson) vs Carolina (Medeiros) A Kannapolis (Hansen) vs Greenville (Sexton)
May 22, 20178 yr Hoping for another dominant start from Hansen followed by a call-up to WS. Hansen has really improved his control so far this season.
May 22, 20178 yr I'm a Remillard fan. Liked what I saw in the College Series. Maybe a bump up the ladder after the draft?
May 22, 20178 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 23, 2017 -> 12:45 AM) I'm a Remillard fan. Liked what I saw in the College Series. Maybe a bump up the ladder after the draft? A bunch of those Kannapolis hitters should be in high A.
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (SouthSide2004 @ May 22, 2017 -> 06:50 PM) A bunch of those Kannapolis hitters should be in high A. I think a couple of them will be promoted when the second half of the minor league season starts or after the draft when guys usually move around.
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 22, 2017 -> 07:00 PM) after the draft when guys usually move around. That's my guess.
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2017 -> 12:54 AM) 3 for last 38 for Basabe How many K's during that stretch?
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 22, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) Hansen. 5 IP 6 H 3 R 3 ER 3 BB 10 SO Good K numbers, but a fairly pedestrian outing otherwise.
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (SouthSide2004 @ May 23, 2017 -> 02:10 AM) How many K's during that stretch? 13 or so
May 23, 20178 yr Arrow pointing up Luis Robert, Moncada, Kopech, Lopez, Hansen, Burdi, Micker Adolfo, Dunning (for now, although that could change) Hold/maintain Collins, Fulmer, Adams, Fisher Reasons for concern/incomplete Giolito, Basabe, Jordan Stephens, Trey M., Call, Peter
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2017 -> 07:54 PM) 3 for last 38 for Basabe He was 4 for his last 38. Now 4 for his last 42. (14 K's) Gotta remember he's a year and a half younger than Collins. He can start at W-S next year and still be a good prospect. Basabe usually adjusts in the second half though. Last year in low A he hit .222/.293/.397 (29.9% K rate) in the first half. Second half he hit .292/.355/.493.

May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2017 -> 08:51 PM) Good post, not too worried about him yet. All along, willie has been saying he's great on defense but has a ton to learn offensively Once Basabe figures it out at the plate, it will then be his turn.
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) Arrow pointing up Luis Robert, Moncada, Kopech, Lopez, Hansen, Burdi, Micker Adolfo, Dunning (for now, although that could change) Hold/maintain Collins, Fulmer, Adams, Fisher Reasons for concern/incomplete Giolito, Basabe, Jordan Stephens, Trey M., Call, Peter Add Lassiter and Morrison to your up list.
May 23, 20178 yr What's the story with Morrison? He's a reliever from Coastal Carolina, like 27th round...how is he striking out everyone? Ehren Wasserman-esque trickery?
May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2017 -> 08:51 PM) Good post, not too worried about him yet. All along, willie has been saying he's great on defense but has a ton to learn offensively I always worry about guys that have a hard time with the Mendoza line. There aren't a lot of really good players that overcame that in the lower levels. There are a few. But it's early, guys slump, and when you are in your slump this early, you numbers look bad, but if he hits .220 or something with a s*** load of strikeouts when the season is done, I'll never count on him to be anything but maybe a 4th or 5th outfielder at best considering the rebuild is supposed to lead to a pretty stacked team for a long time.

Did you read our detailed look at him, within? QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2017 -> 07:41 AM) What's the story with Morrison? May 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 22, 2017 -> 09:54 PM) Hansen 5IP 6H 3ER 3BB 10K The question is always how was his stuff and mechanics late in the game?
