Seems like a good dude, easy to root for. The early results have been really encouraging, especially the low K-rate.

 

Also who knew he had some wheels? An infield hit and a triple in the same game!

My thoughts exactly.

The k rate is just the sexiest thing I've ever seen.

He's a fun player and prospect. He doesn't necessarily fit the "mold", but that's what's so fun. He does his own thing and is successful. Look forward to seeing his career progress.

Did anyone notice that he is choking up, in that photo? Does he do that, even if only when down in the count?

I don't know but it's weird they still have Remillard too. Going to be days he sits for Him until they clear that out.

good and promising start by jake. some people might have thought that his not so pretty swing could lead to some contact issues but the low K rate is very encouraging. of course it is low level pitching and as an advanced college hitter he should do well at the level but I think so far he has exceeded expectations.
