Among all hitters, Edmonds has the 90th highest career WAR, which means you can safely say he was probably one of the 100 best non-pitchers of all time. That deserves a place in the Hall.

There were some thoughts that a couple of them (Hosmer, maybe Davis) could consider 1 year, $18 million deals, but it's not surprising. The new CBA lowers the penalty for signing these guys, so that should make their markets stronger.
