That takes a potential Abreu player off of the table as I have to imagine a lot of their prospects are moving in that deal.

its the Marlins we are talking about here, they practically gave Stanton away

This is a very different deal. I can give you about $300 million reasons why.

Because he had $295 million left on his contract. Marcell Ozuna is going to get something like $8-10 million this year and next. There is a huge, huge difference between Ozuna and Stanton.

Lock him up. Please end all the Harper to Cubs talk.

Did you know Harper owns a Chicago Bulls shirt? That can't be a coincidence.

I'm going to guess Flaherty, and 2 of there MLB OF.. Like a Bader and Piscotty/Grichuk

Reported as 2 arms and an OF.

Just saw that. I don't think this pulls them out of the Abreu sweepstakes.. The Cards still need a first baseman. Still a good match. The questions really is what would they have left in the farm after the Ozuna deal and will they weaken it more from it for Abreu?

alcantara goes to malrins in ozuna deal

Rox also a fit for Avi, I suppose, if they don't think Dahl comes back strong. I think they should push hard for Yelich, though. They need more hitters/fielders. Yelich + Carlos Santana makes them a pretty tough team.

The second part answers the first part.

I'll guess Jack Flaherty + Sandy Alcantara + Piscotty or Grichuk for Ozuna

Hopefully that’s the case. The bigger the return the more hope I have we get something good back for Avi.

Cards will likely still be in the market for a CI whether it be at 1B or 3B (Abreu, Longoria, Donaldson and even Machado).

an a's trade for stephen piscotty from cardinals is "edging closer" via @susanslusser. @Ken_Rosenthal connected those 2 teams earlier.

Wow. guess we know he isn't in the Marlins deal.. How many years did Ozuna have on his deal?

Nope.

Perhaps Avi could have a market when the Marlins talent feeding frenzy ends.

Yelich is as good as gone after the Ozuna deal.

According to the Marlins front office he is not available

There weren't that many teams that were a fit anyways, and those teams are taking on marlins outfielders or the results of marlins outfielders being traded.
