While losing right now may be understood, I would also add that the fans have every right to be pissed about it. The losing in 2018 is a direct result of choices the White Sox were making in 2013, 201

3. Sox 62-95 (Sox Magic/Tragic #) 5 games left

God damnit. What a shitty day for the draft pick.

Yep. Last night was brutal.

Let's win some worthless games. I will never understand why they don't just forfeit these games in the 9th.

I mean it isn't like there are a bunch of people out there playing for their futures or anything.  It isn't like the games that get played have any effect on their job status or salaries going forward.

Yeah, Palka should have struck out on purpose last night

Sox hold the tiebreaker over both of them. Sox are #3 right now.

True, but for all intents and purposes you can look at the standings this way, and pretend everyone is playing 162:

  1. Bal
  2. KC
  3. Mia 62-96 (5)
  4. Sox 62-95
  5. SD 63-95 (4)
  6. Det 64-93 (4)
  7. Cin 66-92 (1)
  8. Tex 66-91 (1)

Sox magic numbers in parentheses.

Correct. I believe the Miami game that was PPD the other day would be the difference if the Sox and Fish finished with the same amount of wins.

Marlins on their way to another L.

After tonight:

White Sox vs Twins (4 games)

Tigers vs Twins (1 game)

Tigers vs Brewers (3 games)

Padres vs Dbacks (3 games)

Marlins vs Mets (3 games)

Gotta lose at least 3 games against the Twins if we want to sniff 3rd pick..

Hopefully the Sox clinch at least 5th before Sunday and we can watch the Brewers beat the Tigers to win the division.

Tigers better beat the Twins tomorrow.

lets just lose all 4 to the Twins and don't worry about it :)

3. Sox 62-96 (Sox Magic/Tragic #) 4 games left

4. Mia 62-96 (4/4) 3 games left

5. SD 64-95 (2/6) 3 games left

6. Det 64-94 (3/6) 4 games left

But really, add a loss to the Marlins record and the Sox are 4th.

Only Tigers vs Twins tomorrow night.

Liriano vs Moya in Minnesota tonight.

A Tigers win would mean a Sox-Twins 4-game split would clinch the Sox at least the 4th pick.

Go Tigers.

This is why you look at wins. The Sox are currently 3 because if the Sox and Marlins have the same number of wins at the end of the year, the Sox get the higher pick. 62-99 is a better record than 62-100, for example.

Seriously fuck the twins

Tigers rolling over for Twins

Stay hot, Twins.

No really. Stay hot.

Tigers are epic tankers. Last year they moved up like 8 or 9 draft spots in September to lock down the #1 pick in the last day. This season, they are making moves yet again. Only 1.5 GB of us for #3. Padres are 2 GB.

If the Sox lose all 4 to Minnesota, they'll have the 3rd pick. If they go 1-3, they guarantee themselves the 4th pick. 2-2 probably puts them at #5 though.
