So LH have a .900 OPS against this guy and Ricky has him bunt to go down 0-2. I think I have seen enough. When it is time to win, he cannot be making the decisions.

Playing for a tie when you're 13-30, have just won 3/4 (after not winning two games in a row for AGES) and playing one of the 3-4 worst teams in MLB is just asinine. Shows zero confidence in your

Because he is going to want to play for a big name team like Yankees or Cubs

I wonder what Colorado would pony up for Jose?

He’s probably right. Teams like the Cubs, Braves, Dodgers, Angels, Red Sox and Yankees are probably going to offer $350-$400M. No way the Sox will match that

Dont hate that send

Agreed, the Engel one was the bad choice that inning

I mean who honestly in their right mind on here believes we offer the most money?

I don't think we offer the most money or the most attractive team option.

I think we’ll be up there in money.

Was just gonna type that. We're tied at 1 tonight for posting before the other

No chance, especially given his monster year. If he keeps this up, he's getting 35-40 a year.

I guess we’ll see, I think the organization realizes the need for a legit superstar signing to signal the rebuild is over and add some excitement to the franchise prior to TV contract negotiations.  If we don’t land Machado, I honestly don’t expect money to be the primary issue.

Even if that happened...I'm sure he'll be jumping to play on a 60 win team with almost none of it's prospects playing.

Anderson + Cease + anything else is absolutely ridiculous for three months of Machado.  No way they get close to that much IMO.

Also, Engel is one frustrating player.

Rest assured that's what they are probably asking or something as obscene. I didn't say they'd get it of course.

Any mid-level to good FA’s we should be looking out for, since Harper & MM are likely headed elsewhere? And please don’t say Josh Donaldson

Paying Machado that much money would be nuts.

It's the old "walk year" syndrome.  How many times in baseball history have big-time FA's signed huge deals coming off career years and then wet the bed the following year?

Can anyone think of someone who outperformed their walk year in their first year after signing a huge extension?

Geezus

Wow, are you kidding me?  That's pathetic to intentionally walk him with no one on.

LMFAO Palka.

They're going to have to be happy with AJ Pollock, a closer and a "higher quality but not ace level" veteran starting pitcher...

Palka is the worst fielder I've ever seen. Really awful managing this inning, should have never started the inning

Looks like Ricky got caught with no one warming up. Meanwhile, shocked there was no thread about how Heyman said the informed speculation is Girardi will replace Ricky in the future.

What do you mean “none of it’s prospects playing”?  There will be plenty of talent on this roster by the end of the season.  We obviously won’t be as ready to win as the Yankees, Cubs, or Dodgers but I don’t we’ll be viewed nearly as negatively as you’re making it out to be.

Sign me up for that.

Daniel Murphy has proved to be a HUGE bargain for the Nats
