Abreu swung on 4 straight pitches that were outside the strike zone.  We could have  had the bases loaded, but Abreu could only think of going for home run glory.

Runners on 1st and 3rd and Abreu K’s on four pitches and I don’t think any were in the strike zone

Yeah, everytime a guy strikes out against a pitcher with an absolutely filthy slider, the only assumption, that I too, can come up with is “he must be trying for a home run!”

Whenever a player is in his contract year, he all of a sudden gets better.  I'm ok with signing him up, but if so just 1 year at a time and at no more than half what he was making every year.
