If that's true, I think last year was an anomaly, not his performance this year. Because he's historically been known as terrible at pitching framing. 2014 article while on the Cubs: look no further than BP’s projections on pitch-framing for 2014. According to the model, Castillo projects to be the worst framing catcher in all of baseball next year.
