If the name didn't hit the news and Kraft's did, it HAS to be political.

I half seriously said Trump, but wow.

You were wrong only because you didn't pluralize it

I knew there was a reason presidents typically sell off/separate themselves from their personal business interests prior to taking office!

Lol, no he wasnt. Being friends with the old owner is nothing like the "involvement" Kraft had. It was disappointingly Schefter playing damage control for his buddy Bob.

That is true, he did his job to a T. Now everyone's talking about the guy who had nothing to do with the actual crime.

Kraft >>> Trump

I, for one, am shocked it's the Raiders...... ?

  1. Trade then 27 year old Khalil Mack and 24 year old Amari Cooper to "rebuild"
  2. Trade for Antonio Brown, who turns 31 in time for training camp

Gruden gonna Gruden

Would you trade a 3rd and 5th round pick for a 1st round pick? And would you trade Amari Cooper straight up for Antonio Brown?

We can all make fun of Jon Gruden because, well, he's Jon Gruden, but if he hits on these draft picks he's going to look like an absolute genius in a few years.

This is true but Grudens teams have never been "drafted", he never had awesome rookies and young players that he built up.  He always relied on vets that he didn't have to teach, so I will be curious to see how his this next draft goes for him.  Not sure how much he had to do with the 2018 draft but it doesn't look too good so far.

also, AB screwed over Pittsburgh hardcore if this is true, that Buffalo trade would have been way better

I would trade a 3 and 5 for a 1, but I wouldn't trade Cooper for Brown right now, no. Cooper had a big year, is 6-7 years younger and is significantly cheaper.

And now he traded Osemele. Remember last year when Gruden took the job and complimented Carr and the two starting OG's + said he'd retain Mack? Now Mack is gone and 1 of those 2 OG's are gone.

And he included the Bears 6th rounder with Osemele...to get the Jets' 5th rounder.

You would?

Yes, the odds of a first rounder panning out are much better. Plus, even trading the top pick in round 3 and 5 for the last pick in round 1 is a 282 point win on the draft chart for the team getting the 1st.

First round picks work out about 25% of the team. It's about 12% in round 3 and 6% in round 5.

I liked the Amari Cooper trade for the Raiders, even if he exceeded expectations with the Cowboys.  But it kind of defeats the purpose if you trade draft picks for a 31 years old wide receiver with drama after that. And then you give him bags and bags of money. When you wouldn't pay 27 year old Khalil Mack for missing some OTAS.

Only 9 years left on the Gruden deal.

Teams can start talking to players now, right?

I guess it's noon today.  Should be crazy.

Sounds like the Bears and Packers have interest in Mark Ingram.

Today is the beginning of the "tampering but it's ok tampering and we won't call it tampering" period

I hope if they end up signing Ingram they end up pairing him with  a rookie back. Tbh I prefer Yeldon. Cheaper and younger.

He will be paired with Cohen

Cohen is a gadget player/athlete. They need someone who can carry the load if the starter gets injured. Cohen isn't going to get 15+ carries per game. He'll get his 10 carries and 5-10 catches.

Nagy isn't going to split time with three backs like you think he will.   He will be in the backfield a lot next year sharing time with either a free agent or rookie

If said FA/rookie gets injured then what? They need the 3rd back for injury insurance. If they're left with Cohen/Mizzell you can kiss any semblance of a run game goodbye.

You can fight it all you want but Cohen is gonna be a feature.  You can't insure your backs 4 deep, especially the bears right now. They are gonna be getting someone to split time with Cohen

If Ingram is out short term, Cohen and whoever the 3rd stringer is can handle the RB duty in a pinch. If he's out long term, you bring in another FA. No need to spend additional resource on a backup RB if we sign Ingram.
