Opening Day Weather in KC

Featured Replies

A lot of rain in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.  May be tough to get this one in.  90% chance of thunderstorms both days.

15 games tomorrow, and one is in jeopardy...this one. (Might get some rain in Oakland too)

The weather folks don’t seem to have a grasp on the timing of this and if it’s going to be non-stop. It definitely would have been better if they tried to start at noon or 1. We’ll see.

Looks dry and in the 40s in Cleveland next week.

Might turn out Rodon for the season and home openers.

Figures.  Looking at the hourly forecast tho Flavum is def correct they should try and move it up.  Most of the rain is predicted for later in the afternoon after 3 or so.  I think they'll get the game in although it might get delayed for a passing shower.

Just guessing, but if they don’t play Thursday, the forecast for Friday is so bad, they probably won’t try.

That would mean either a day/night doubleheader Saturday, or they just honor opening day tix on Saturday and change Saturday’s tix to June 8...and make that a day/night.

Anyway, it wouldn’t be the worst thing for the Sox if they don’t play until Saturday. Rodon and Lopez can pitch in KC, then Nova and Giolito in Cleveland. Then the first home series vs Seattle would be Rodon, Lopez, Nova.

I'd be cool with a Saturday double header. I can actually watch those games.

The sky is going to be blue and the weather warm tomorrow in KC. The rain will hold off until later. The game will be played. The game will be the start of a wonderful season as this team is Playoff bound.

90% chance thunderstorms Thursday from 1:00-7:00, of course during the window of the game

100% chance storms all day Friday

90% chance rain most of the day Saturday now. Up to a quarter of an inch they say.

Of course this would happen.

You can watch a local KC forecast here:

This guy has the game starting in a delay, but hopeful they’ll get the game in.

It wouldn't be the home opener if the weather wasn't awful.

That's what happens when you try to play baseball in March / early April in the Midwest / North. MLB never seems to learn.

The latest video from this morning has the heavier rain north of KC, but scattered rain throughout. Maybe once they start the game, they can play through some of it. They’ll try to play, that’s for sure. Happy Opening/Eloy Day!

Hope Lopez likes cold. Accuweather has the real feel at 33 at 2pm tomorrow. Sunday will be sunny and more comfortable, but around 50.

Monday in Cleveland- cold but dry

Next Thursday in Chicago 56, might rain. That might be the forecast every year.

Lindor with a new injury good time to visit the shores of Lake Erie.

Sat 7 am snow and 36F in KC.

Royals page: Moore will not use the term rebuilding after 104 losses. He went out and got Billy Hamilton and Terrance Gore to up their speed game along with Mondesi and Whitfield. They are looking to compete with speed and defense. I don't think anyone else wanted those two guys frankly.

Opening Day in Cleveland tomorrow- a balmy 37 degrees.

Thursday in Chicago- 46, cloudy, showers possible

OD sucks, but after that, the homestand looks ok

Any chance they push it to Friday?

It’s more of a Wednesday night into Thursday morning thing, so I would say no. It’s just going to be a cold game.

I'll take it!
