If three seasons in with capital like Sale, Q, and Eaton to trade, the Sox are still losing 100 games, it is a big deal. It shows the guys in charge have no clue. This wasn't starting from scratch. Th

Hey remember when Morton was a free agent and we didnt make an offer? I remember how he signed for peanuts

Signing a guy like Morton makes little sense for a tanking team.

I don't think Engel would've got that one though.

Santana is going to be a complete waste of $4M.

Annnnd there. It. Is.

Coop will fix em.

I'd be surprised if there were more than 3k butts in seats here today.

Santana has nothing left.

I hate being out of games on the 2nd inning

Which fucking scout recommended Santana?  The organization is so bad at scouting ML talent.

Santana up about 2mph compared to last year, so he has at least restored his health somewhat. Down about 2mph from 2017. He clearly has no feel for his stuff though. We might be paying for skipping his spot more than anything.

I think one of the reasons the White Sox are a tanking team is the number of bad players they have signed. At this point, I don't care if it "makes sense" or not, I'd like them to acquire an actual good player.

Going to be a theme this year I'd bet.

Isn't tanking fun?

We better get used to it. This Sox team still has other 2-3 years of tank left in them.

If they were going to sign a cheap starter, Pomeranz would have been a much better option.

Overreacting post of the day:

Hahn should be fired for assembling the 2019 team.

This game is ovah.

Nothing wrong with inviting him to camp. Actually calling him up though. ?

Alonso might only be hitting .148, but he's great in the clubhouse. Has these guys really playing well.

No team - i guarantee - will have gotten less WAR for their dollars than the 2018-19 white sox acquisitions.

Rick Hahn cannot evaluate talent.

Nah. Let the kids play and take your 100 losses like a man. Guys like Stephens or Banuelos should be starting over Santana.

Ooh. Gamethread is already frothing at the mouth. Can't wait to turn this one on during my lunch hour.

Yep of course. I don’t know what more he needs to do to show he’s out of his league

I do, 100%, believe they should have mixed more vets with rookies for pitchers. But with so many young pitchers they should have had 5-6 more player dev and coaching guys on the field to assist.
