May 20, 20196 yr So that’s good. Also imagine we’ll see a roster move for a SP tomorrow. Detwiler or maybe Despaigne. I’d be surprised if Sox did a bullpen day. I’d prefer to see Lambert or Flores. It won’t be Lambert though because he last pitched in Thursday. Flores last pitched Wednesday, so he would be on only 4 days rest too. So realistically probably will be neither.

May 20, 20196 yr I am sure Eloy is back. He wasn’t in the Charlotte lineup or on the team roster earlier today

May 20, 20196 yr So Eloy (assuming he is in the lineup Monday) will have missed 21 games and around three and a half weeks. Not as bad as it could have been I guess but still a blow to his development and the team. He's got to get better defensively or be moved to 1B or DH.
May 20, 20196 yr I don't want to see Delmonico up in a white sox uni again. Really likeable guy.. but yeah at this point he doesn't have it.
May 20, 20196 yr It will be good to see Eloy back. Delmonico to AAA in my opinion is the best move right now.

And with Covey on the mound, you have to expect a lot of BP use that game as well.

Right, so you're pretty much expecting 13 IP from your bullpen in the next two days, when you play a full schedule this week against the two best records in the AL right now. I just find the decision making on this being a bullpen game an incredibly stupid decision. 1 hour ago, soxfan2014 said: Burr is starting this game tonight. Bullpen game. Where did you see this confirmed? Trying to avoid Twitter today as the GOT spoilers are everywhere and I am not caught up.

Van Schouwen's tweet is all I've seen so far too. Don't know who else they could call up to eat innings but going full pen day to start a brutal road trip isn't exactly the most competent managerial decision. ?

They're doing a bullpen day out of their refusal to call up a SP. I understand the AAA rotation has been a dumpster fire, and I am personally fine with not calling up Cease yet, but Lambert and Flores are both guys that should be given an opportunity, because opportunities are going to be harder to come by when they may be "major league ready" in 2020. Yeah I agree. I wouldn't mind either getting a spot start or two.
