How do we know coop isn't the one telling Ricky to leave him in there?

Because this shit didn't happen as frequently with other managers.

I agree with Jason here. It wasn't intentional but this is what you do to yourself when you play beanball.

The fact that Lopez was close to 100 pitches and Fry wasn't even warming up yet is just inexcusable.

Other than the probable Win I would agree.  This wasn't really a terribly impressive outing.  That triple ends it for me.

12 hits, 2 walks and 5 ER (plus loads of hard contact) over 5.2 IP vs one of the worst teams in baseball? Zero stress free innings and a couple more runs saved by great defensive plays?

"Wasn't terribly impressive" is sure a generous way to sum up Lopez tonight. I would be more inclined to throw some four letter words in there, but that's just me. lol

Yeah that was a nice job of taking an okay start for Lopez and shitting it away.

Man I apologize Robin for anything I ever said.

This is terrible management.

Let this game go to where the tying run is coming to the plate.  Ridiculous!

Fire them both then.  Cooper for being out of touch with reality and Renteria for blindly agreeing with him.

Lopez allowed 12 balls in play of an exit velocity of 97 mph or higher, including 10 in the last 3 innings

Easily the worst managing decision(s) of Ricky's time here. Reynaldo had backed his way into an acceptable 5 inning start but there were already signs that he was  losing it at the end of 5. Nobody getting loose to start the next inning and we let Reynaldo throw more pitches than he has in his career (I presume) to give up 4 more runs for god knows what reason

Because renteria is brain dead.

I'm just hoping Lopez arm doesn't fall off after this.

It's like he had to leave Reynaldo in for 3 extra batters to prove that he hadn't forgotten to get somebody warmed up

Remember when the initial reaction from Nationals’ fans following the Eaton trade is that they had no problem trading Giolito but were upset Rizzo traded Lopez? ?

Rick getting lit up on Twitter

Lopez was lucky he had Garcia in center tonight. Not an Impressive start at all.

Those #'s were helped quite a bit in there terribleness by Ricky.  If he pulls Lopez after 5 we shrug and say not terrible.  I'll give him that.

Ricky now proceeding to burn through his BP because he allowed this game to become close. 4D Chess Rick

At least Fry was good

Yeah.  That was a nice surprise.

That ball was killed.

Give Marshall another inning

Soler has had a nice night even with the rob job.

Both the balls off of Marshall were kilt.

Dozier and Soler look good. KC quietly has a real strong 1-5 in the order when Lopez is out
