K's a lot, not very powerful. walks a bit.

OTH saying a virginia player isn't very powerful doesn't mean much, maybe a swing change guy.

3rd round slot is $667K. They are likely giving Allan close to $4 million. If Allan chooses not to sign, they'd lose $667K but they could still offer Barco the remaining the 3.3 million they had allot

He'll help with the Sox recruiting pitch for Witt when he is a free agent in 8 years.

I like it. Plus speed, elite bat speed metrics, good arm strength and pop times. https://www.perfectgame.org/Players/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=394663

My first thought as well. Lets see what he can do with different coaching.

For those keeping score, after 20 picks 13 pitchers (3 LHP).

Numbers are down across the board from his Sophomore year.

Uh, did that guy just pronounce Lubbock as "Lou-Bock"?

He was substantially better in 2018, maybe Sox hoping he can regain that form?

Could be talking out my a**, but this seems like a fairly weak draft overall.

Yeah, plenty of guys get drafted out of there. Between Chipola and U. Tampa, the White Sox tend to get a guy from one of those schools damn near every year.

So, just to figure this out.

2017 - All ACC  awesome soph year

2018 - misses entire year due to shoulder injury

2019 - regresses a lot.

Maybe he can heal up and get the virginia beaten out of him.

https://baseballdraftreport.com/tag/cameron-simmons/

"Injuries are the worst. OF/RHP Cameron Simmons was poised for a fantastic draft season, but a serious shoulder injury will wipe away his entire junior year. How big a blow is this to the top of this June’s draft? Those who have seen Simmons more than I have were adamant that he was ready to flip his 23 BB/40 K from last season all the way around as a junior. An athlete like Simmons who can run, throw, and hit for power with a cleaned up approach at the plate? That’s a potential first round sleeper. Alas, we’ll either have to wait a year for him to try it all again or see if a team that has really done its homework can draft him in a spot high enough to buy him out of those last two years of collegiate eligibility."

There goes Leiter. Yankees it is.

Al Leiter's son to the Yankees.

Vandy is going to be so good (as they always are).

I really like this Cam Simmons pick!

I'd be shocked if the Yankees had enough pool money to sign Leiter at this point

I would love with all these low risk picks we are nabbing up, we still go crazy and try for Osmond or Spencer Jones.

Uh, another one with no BA scouting report.

His K : BB rates would be decent if he was a hitter but alas he is just a bad pitcher.

Kid has crazy good stuff for this late, just no idea where its going.

Still hoping they can make a run at Prosecky, would be happy enough with that.

I got excited for two seconds cause I thought it said Prosecky and not Solesky.

Logan Glass, from PBR:

Quote

A physically impressive 6-foot-4, 202-pound lean and athletic frame with strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a relaxed, upright, and open stance with low set hands and some rhythm throughout. Uses a huge leg kick, moderate stride, and arm bar load before launching his hands on a flat path through extension with bat speed and strength. In BP, shows a flat and middle of the field approach, hitting line drives to the fence, some barrels, 96 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.65 60. Defensively, shows clean confident and athletic actions with excellent closing speed and charges the ball well. Throws with a full arm stroke through a high-¾ slot with elite arm speed and carry, shows some accuracy at 100 mph from the outfield.
