  • If the Sox win these last 3 games before the ASB, they will have a better record than the Cubs. With the current make-up of the respective 25 player rosters,  that's stunning. It's also tell

Sox were 7-7 against the Cubs, Twins, Indians, Yankees, and Red Sox in the month of June. It’s not like they’re only beating bad teams at this point, they’re playing toe to toe with likely playoff tea

  • This place is weird. The Sox had a huge day yesterday and the game thread today actually has conversation about the Cubs.

Reynaldo Lopez is trash they should trade him

Reynaldo really gives away his curve with his motion, as evidenced by Stewart hitting that thing an inch off the ground

He isnt good

It's a good thing they won to yesterday.

I hope we have someone up in the pen because Lopez's fastball has lost a bunch of juice this inning and it's not like it was really blowing them away before

Pitching, pitching, and more pitching.

Make more trades.

For what? Probably not worth much now.

I did think Stewart hit it better than that, though

Does Lopez have a child we could allow in the locker room and then ban from the locker room and create a huge kerfuffle about, ultimately pointless but personally cutting enough to make him quit the team?

Lopez is a total disaster.  Definitely looks like a bullpen piece.

Yup we have two legit starters at the moment.  Lopez ain't it.  He hasn't developed a single bit since he got here.  He might even have worse secondary pitches today than when he came over.  Obviously you try him the rest of the year but he's a reliever, maybe an opener, long term without a massive improvement.

Just sign a front of the rotation guy and a decent #4-5 and that rotation for next year is looking good.

And then don’t teach them a cutter

I think you might be right. Just let him focus on two pitches. He might throw 100+ out of the bullpen. Did you see what Stone said about his changeup grip? That is a great pitch when he grips it properly.

Might is quite the understatement.

We'll cut Lopez at some point and he'll go to the Astros and win a Cy Young

Incredibly plausible and frustrating.

And yes his secondary pitches have all become trash the longer he's been here. When he first came up from Charlotte in 2017 his secondary stuff was infinitely better. Hell, his fastball has become worse too.

Omg he sucks right now.

All hits on offspeed this inning, so might as well try the heater

Is there nobody warming up??

What does Cooper exactly work on with him just curious?

I cannot be the only one who notices that Rey Lopez basically has the exact same outing every time he takes the mound, can I? 3-4 respectable innings before his command just disappears entirely out of the clear blue sky and he becomes a total sh*t show. Winds-up with 5-6 IP 3-5 ER's 3 K's. It feels like that is literally EVERY outing for him.

We haven't done Lopez any favors with our handling of the bullpen in his final innings this year

Terrible.

Oh my...

One has to wonder.
