And that you don’t always have to put slappy hitters in that spot

Are you an advocate for putting Robert leading off when he comes up?

All these things are why I have been repeating myself about why the Sox cannot have sustained success. There just haven't been any resources put into developing young players.  This is on Reinsdorf.

    @ron883 where u at?

I tried to jinx Cole by starting him for the ‘ol fantasy team, but that late start/shadows will be death to Sox hitters as the game goes on.

All fastballs and curves this inning, slider to retire Reddick was just his second.

Started Springer with all slow stuff instead of leading with FB this time around.

Sure....Robert first, Yoan 2nd, Vaughn 3rd, Eloy 4th, Timmy 7th, Madrigal 9th is my dream if they can meet expectations

I hope Anderson, Cease, and Eloy all play well and the Sox lose

Grienke's jersey looks like 6 sizes too big

That wastes a lot of Madrigal’s fundamentals having a catcher on base in front of him.

Robert, Madrigal, Moncada, Vaughn, Jimenez....Anderson 7th or 9th.

I can't decide if that would feel more comfortable or uncomfortable to pitch with. I guess you would feel less restricted the bigger it is.

Not overly in love with this umpire at this time.

He was blocking the plate! I thought that you couldn't do that anymore.

LOL!

What in the world is Castillo doing

I feel like this never gets called anymore after the first year of the implementation of this rule

Four hits, zero runs...

Yeah, remember one game where Flowers got called on the Posey Rule and at the time there was just no way you could ever tag out a baserunner if you followed it 100%.

Harrelson was livid, naturally.

That was a missile

Is this where I say Cease should be throwing faster than 95 consistently?

Both of Cease’s homers surrendered on fastballs, 96 and 95.

It’s going to be an interminable day/night.

I believe that game was on August 13th, 2014, which coincidentally is 5 years ago exactly.

Madrigal, Moncada, Robert,  Sheets, Vaughn,  Collins,  jimenez, Walker, Anderson

OBP, Speed and Power!!!  Try to pitch around that lineup.

Since I think Ricky is going to be around awhile, trying to give him that Lefty-Righty balance he seems to crave

I get that this is a strict R-L-R thing but if Eloy Jimenez is batting 7th long-term then we might as well pack up and start over

I really hope we go outside to supplement the offense. I don’t think Sheets and Walker are big league starters.

We do need that LH Lillian bat there to break up the middle of the order...just not sure we can pencil in Sheets quite yet.

Walker seems at least 50/50 at this point.

I don't think Collins is either, though he has a bit more of a chance than he did before.

You already have come to that conclusion on Walker? Any reason? Was promoted to A+ (yea  I know still a ways away) and is showing a solid hit tool with very low strikeout rates. The power isn't there yet, but he's flashing some speed and playing CF. I think there is potential there. I do agree about Sheets.
