I didn't see it mentioned but there is a Fegan article in the Athletic from 8/25 that is real good on Kannapolis guys.  A lot of good info.  Don't want to paste but delved into the younger prospects and reclamations like Varnell and Lindgren.

It was very good. Feel like it may have been in main forum. His takeaway on Sosa and Bush was how I feel. Overall numbers may get you down, but they are 19 in a tough league, and battled back for some really nice stretches again and again. They are getting used to adjusting through a long season. Excited for them to keep learning.

Dash playing earlier than usual.

Vaughn 1-2 so far.

Im getting the feeling that our A+ instructors are clueless

Madrigal HBP, SB.

Caught stealing

Sosa 2-3, 2 RBIs. For a 19 year old in that league, he's more than held his own.

In other news,  Banuelos still sucks.

Collins has passed Robert and Yermin for team lead in OPS. Impressive for him.

They took a chance on him without any risk. Who cares?

And: Please respect the hot take free  safe space that is the minor league gamethread.

No I get it, but I don't think that it's even a hot take. Just stating the obvious

Going to be very intriguing to see how Collins' new swing looks in September. Batting average up to .295, the K rate is very manageable, etc.

He's 2-3 with a HR tonight.

Collins 3-4 now.  Single to left.  His newfound ability to use the whole ballpark intrigues me.

Collins 3-4, 3 RBIs, R

So catching position could be set for next 4 seasons. I like that.

The Sox finally benefiting from a player making alterations to their swing would be nice. Hopefully this is the new Zack Collins.

Gavin Sheets has certainly turned it around at AA. In his last 75 games 314 PA, (not including tonight) he's at .298/.376/.502, .878 OPS, 155 wRC+, .322 BABIP, 13 HR, 15 2B, 33 BB, 51 K, 10.5% BB%, 16.2% K%.

Also, Collins since demotion (not including tonight): 32 G, 136 PA, .351/.456/.685, 1.141 OPS, 185 wRC+, .370 BABIP, 9 HR, 10 2B, 31 RBI, 22 R, 21 BB (15.4%), 21 K (16.9%). Love the K rate going down, down, down.

Our A+ pitching coach is probably the best in the system.

Weaver 2-3, 2B, 3B, RBI, R

Quietly having a solid year.

Madrigal at AA/AAA this season (not including tonight)

65 G, 287 PA, .329/.394/.438, .832 OPS, 135 wRC+, 9.1 BB%, 3.5 K%, .336 BABIP, 51 R (that would be on pace for 127 over 162 games), 26 RBI, 18 SB, 8 CS, 16 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 2 HR. 26 BB. 10 K.

Fegan's articles mentioning him have me hoping he replaces Coop after this season. It seems a bit dysfunctional the Sox don't have a pitching coach using the same techniques at each level of the organization.

It really seems bizarre.

One of the main reasons why I want Farquhar either as a pitching coach in one of the affiliates or some kind of pitching instructor himself.

I agree.  But I don’t feel like we have enough information to know.  I mean we’re all just using common sense and we’re all baseball idiots.  I like to think the Sox have real baseball people doing smart basebally stuff we cannot even fathom.

It feels like there's a small segment of the White Sox organization that's modernized and an overwhelming majority of it is stuck in 2006.
